Pretty & Polished October Beauty Box Review

*Press Sample*

Hi everyone! Today I have Pretty & Polished's October Beauty Box to share with you. This box is full of fun polishes and products that are perfect for fall and Halloween!

For the non-polish items, there was a baggie with some adorable Halloween-themed nail art items, including little pumpkin and skull fimo slices and some super adorable mustache studs! Eeee...I love them! Also there was a Pretty & Polished Nail File and some Cranberry Sugar Scrub, which I will talk about more next!

The Cranberry Sugar Scrub had me excited! Cranberry is one of my all-time favorite fall scents because I'm not usually one for the heavy cinnamon spiced scents that abound during this season (I like some of them, but they have to be light on the cinnamon). This scrub smells fresh and delicious and is filled with wonderful ingredients like coconut oil, shea butter, vitamin E, and argan oil (one of my favorites!). This scrub will be perfect for smoothing rough, flaky hands once the weather starts cooling off.

Now, onto the polishes!

Of Fire and Ice (Box Exclusive, Full-Sized) has a sheer black jelly base filled with matte teal glitters (including triangle glitters!) and red microglitter. I found that this one looked best layered over black because the base is quite sheer. The formula was very easy to work with and the larger glitters came out of the bottle very easily (I did do a little dabbing to place the triangles where I wanted them). I used 1 dabbed coat over KBShimmer Eclipse for this mani. The colors popped so well against the base and I absolutely love the addition of the triangles. I thought the name was quite awesome too and fit the polish perfectly.

Bonfire Bliss (Box Exclusive, Full-Sized) is a combination of red and black translucent glitters and orange microglitter in a clear base. The glitters were pretty easy to spread with this polish, but I will tell you that translucent glitters like this tend to stick together more than traditional glitters, so it is easiest to apply this by dabbing them on so they will spread out evenly. This has been true of every polish I've ever used with translucent glitters (but they are so cool looking, so it is worth it!). I chose to show you this glitter over two different bases because I feel like it looks cool both ways. Over the lighter orange base (Where Did Suzi's Man-go?) the colors popped more while over the darker orange base (Elevation Polish Sarychev) the glitters provided wonderful depth and really gave me that "bonfire" feel.

Autumn Enchantress (Box Exclusive, Mini) is a clear-based glitter topper filled with red, orange, yellow, brown, green, and gold glitters including some red diamond glitters. Formula was nice with great glitter distribution (and the diamond glitters even came out of the mini bottle with no fishing, which is impressive!). I used 2 coats over China Glaze Lemon Fizz for this mani. This is pretty much fall in a bottle and I love it!

Rake a Little Piece of My Heart (Re-release from the Fall 2013 Collection, Mini) is a pale peach crelly with red, orange, and gold glitters. Formula built up nicely and spread easily in 3 thin coats. Another cute fall-themed polish!

Pretty & Polished's Monthly Beauty Box contain 2 full-sized polishes that are exclusive to the box, 1-2 mini polishes (usually they are samples of their currently offered colors, but often these may be box exclusives as well), 1 offering from their bath and body line (either full-sized items or samples), and usually a few extras such as nail art or nail care items. In addition to this, you receive a coupon to use on your next order with Pretty & Polished (the amounts on these vary each month, so they are a surprise). I think that is all a pretty sweet deal for $22 shipped in the US (for international customers it is $30 shipped).

Full details about the Beauty Box are available on Pretty and Polished's website (purchase here). They go on sale on the 10th of each month (October's Beauty Box went on sale on September 10th) and are available until the 1st of the next month (or until they sell out, limited numbers are available). If you don't want to worry about them selling out, you can also sign up for a subscription to the box to guarantee that you will receive it before they are all gone (more details are on the website). I think it is a pretty great deal for all of the products that you receive in the box!

To check out other Pretty and Polished products, visit their website or these international locations. You can also follow them on Facebook , Instagram, and Twitter to see updates on new releases!

What do you think of this month's Beauty Box? Thanks for looking everyone!
