Polish Pickup December 2017: CrowsToes Zero

Hi everyone! Tonight I have CrowsToes' offering for December's Polish Pickup! The theme for December is "Holidays Around the World" and Lauri chose Nightmare Before Christmas (so Halloween!) to use as her inspiration. This month's Polish Pickup will start on December 1st and will run until December 4th (it's starting a few days early this month to allow for makers to get polishes out by Christmas!). This polish will be capped at 175 bottles this month, so grab it while you can!

Oogie's Boys Trio with CrowsToes Nail Color, Illyrian Polish, and Octopus Party Nail Lacquer

Hi everyone! Today I have two out of the three polishes in the Oogie's Boys Trio to share with you! CrowsToes Nail Color, Illyrian Polish, and Octopus Party Nail Lacquer have come together to create this Nightmare Before Christmas-inspired trio just in time for Halloween! The trio is available now in each maker's shop for $32 with the maker's individual shades being available in each of their respective shops. The pre-order event will end on Tuesday, October 17th at 10 PM Eastern time. Since this is a pre-order, the estimated turn-around time will be 14-21 days after the pre-order ends.

New CrowsToes Multichrome Finishes!

Hi everyone! CrowsToes has released a collection of multichromes including some brand new ones and some old favorites. Altogether, there are 6 multichrome shifts (4 brand new, 2 oldie favorites) with 4 finishes of each shift including the original finish, a sparked finish, a linear holo finish, and a bleached holo finish. Lauri has a little something for everyone's taste here, so you can pick your favorites! Today, I have two of the multichrome shifts to show you, Damned If You Don't and one of my old favorites, Huginn & Muninn. Every year, Lulu from Elevation Polish organizes a huge fundraising event to benefit Chrestomathy, which is an organization local to her that is a day training and habilitation service for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. CrowsToes Shiny Happy People for September's A Box, Indied

Hi everyone! Today I have CrowsToes' contribution to September's A Box, Indied. The theme for the September box is "Opposites Attract" and it features finishes and/or effects that the makers don't typically make in their own lines. Other participants in the September box include Hare Polish, Girly Bits, Serum No. 5, and Black Cat Lacquer

CrowsToes Shiny, Happy People is a shimmery thermal polish that changes from a bright grassy green (warm) to a slightly deeper tealy green (cool). It is packed with translucent white flakies with scattered silver holo glitters. Formula was very easy to work with and I got full coverage in 3 thin coats (though I think 2 regular coats would have been perfect.) The thermal shift is subtle, but more apparent in real life than I could capture on camera because it is varied shades of green not two completely different colors (you can see the "cool" state really well as the bottle color in my pics though). It stays mostly in the warm state on me because it is very hot where I live and I'm hot natured. I'm a green lover, so this polish is right up my alley. The flakes and the subtle addition of scattered holo bits is just perfection.

CrowsToes Nitty Gritty Collection

Hi everyone! I have a brand new collection from CrowsToes called the Nitty Gritty Collection and they are TEXTURES! Like...real textures. I'm so excited that Lauri has figured out the secret to making amazing texture polishes using the real texture bits (a la the original Zoya Pixies) instead of just glitter. She released the amazing neon pink Hooker at Heart for Valentine's Day and there are now 3 more neon textures as well as 3 new black-based textures that all have color shifting glassflecks in them (or glitter bits...I'm not sure, but they shift colors!). There is also a gorgeous shimmery polish that is not textured, so it's definitely the oddball of the bunch, but totally gorgeous and you need it! Okay? CrowsToes Last Light for July's A Box, Indied

Hi everyone! Today I have CrowsToes' addition to July's A Box, Indied. The theme for July is Summer Daze, and there will be 4 other contributors to the box besides CrowsToes, but I'm unsure who they are at this point, so stay tuned to Llarowe's Facebook page for more details on the other pretties that will be included in the box along with exact launch dates and times (it typically launches on the 26th of each month).

CrowsToes Last Light is a metallic royal purple with heavy blue shimmer and red flecks.  Formula was super easy to work with and it was opaque in 2 easy coats. Because of the blue shimmer, it appears a little more cool toned in pictures than in real life, but I would say it is a true purple, not too warm or cool toned. I've been a purple shimmer fiend since the very beginning of my polish obsession, and this one is a stunner! It really just glows and the blue shimmer almost makes it look like a duochrome polish in certain lights. It's a really bright, saturated purple that is pretty much all that you could ask for if you are a purple shimmer lover. Based on the name, I'm assuming this polish was inspired by the gorgeous purple that the sky turns as the sun is setting in the summer. It's one of nature's glorious marvels, and what a pretty tribute to it!

*Edit: I did go back and color adjust these pictures just a smidge to make the color more true to life. My original pictures were a little more blue-toned than real life.*

CrowsToes Whoopee Cushion from April's A Box, Indied

Hi everyone! Today I have the CrowsToes entry into April's A Box, Indied to share with you! April's box is April Fool's themed and Lauri picked a trickster classic for her inspiration: the Whoopee Cushion! There will be 4 other contributors to April's box, so keep a lookout on Llarowe's Facebook page for previews of the other polishes (and I *may* have a few more in my possession to share with you as well that I will be previewing very soon).

CrowsToes Whoopee Cushion is a pinky-red that has a strong silvery shimmer that dries to a semi-matte finish. I showed it with and without topcoat for you guys, and I think it looks cool both ways. There are also some tiny red flakes/ glitter which add even more interest. Formula was really nice and it built up to opacity in 3 thin coats. This polish is dead-on Whoopee Cushion red and I really enjoy that you can wear it matte or with topcoat for different looks (though I really enjoy how much the shimmer pops with topcoat).

CrowsToes Valentine's 2015 Collection

Hi everyone! Today I have CrowsToes Valentine's 2015 Collection (aka ValenCrows) to share with you. Per usual, Lauri has created a set of polishes that celebrate her TRUE feelings about Valentine's Day. While some of the polish colors may seem romantic, the names are definitely not all hearts and flowers. Another thing I would like to note is that this collection has a little bit of everything! She has jelly, and a texture (both firsts for CrowsToes), as well as a shimmer, a glitter, and a metallic all in one collection. There is something for everyone to love here! CrowsToes Even Sugar Melts in the Devil's Mouth for February's A Box, Indied

Hi everyone! Today I have the CrowsToes exclusive for February's A Box, Indied to share with you.
The theme of this box is "A Box, Candied", so all of the polishes are candy-themed. The other contributors to this box are Hare Polish, Elevation Polish, Serum No. 5, and Black Cat Lacquers. CrowsToes Even Sugar Melts in the Devil's Mouth is a black jelly filled with tiny red flake shimmer and larger translucent white flakes. Formula was really nice and built up easily in 3 thin coats. According to Pointless Cafe's post, this one was inspired by black rock candy, and I think it matches that inspiration perfectly! Leave it to Madam Crow to go for a darker theme when candy is her source of inspiration! LOL! This polish though...so gorgeous! The shimmering depth is just insane! I feel like this polish is the dark, moody (dare I say...devilish?) sister of That Boy is a P-I-G Pig! when Lauri was showing off a bit of her feminine, delicate side. I guess flakes can be ethereal AND evil!

CrowsToes Overtime 'Till Springtime for January's A Box, Indied

 Hi everyone! Today I have CrowsToes' contribution to January's A Box, Indied to share with you. The theme of this box is "New Debts, New Diets, New Polish!" and this polish fits right in with that theme. Lauri told me that she wanted to create a glitterbomb using all coin-colored glitters and that is just what she did. These boxes will go on sale towards the end of December (keep watch on Llarowe's Facebook page for exact dates and times because I'm not sure if/how the holidays will affect the timing of the restock).

CrowsToes Overtime 'Till Springtime is a clear-based glitter topper filled with copper, silver, and gunmetal metallic and holo glitters. The formula was very nice and spread well with great glitter distribution. I chose to pair it with two different bases, the dark green to go with the "money" theme and the purple just because I thought it paired so well. I can see this looking nice over a variety of base colors though since metal colors are pretty neutral and go with everything. Another winner in the CrowsToes glitterbomb department!
