Dreamland Lacquer Woleebaph Ronder Wily Collection

*Press Samples*

Hi everyone! Today I have Dreamland Lacquer's brand new collection to share with you. Noelie sent me an e-mail with the details about this collection, and when I first opened it...I can't remember the last time I have been so puzzled by a nail polish collection name. Just before I asked Noelie if she was losing it, I clicked on the linked post and everything was explained! The Woleebaph Ronder Wily Collection is a 6-piece collection of gorgeous shades with names taken from a computerized name generator for colors. There are some wild ones...and I'm still campaigning for a part II to this collection to include a Rose Hork polish...

Here is a full explanation to Noelie's inspiration behind the collection:
Who among us hasn’t wanted the machine from the Jetsons where you put your hands in, and pull them out fully manicured in the color of their choice? Nail polish via technology. However, judging by the color swatches in this article, we’re not sure artificial intelligence is quite up to the task of making indie polishes just yet: http://aiweirdness.com/post/160776374467/new-paint-colors-invented-by-neural-network
Inspired by the work of the neural networks being run by Janelle Shane, this time, we took care of the sparkles, and only let the robot polish overlords name them. Presenting: “Woleebaph Ronder Wily” - or, in English, “What Your Computer Might Name Your Polish.”
The Woleebaph Roder Wily Collection will be available for pre-order starting today at 2:00 PM CDT for a 48 hour window in the Dreamland Lacquer shop.

CrowsToes Shiny Happy People for September's A Box, Indied

*Press Sample*

Hi everyone! Today I have CrowsToes' contribution to September's A Box, Indied. The theme for the September box is "Opposites Attract" and it features finishes and/or effects that the makers don't typically make in their own lines. Other participants in the September box include Hare Polish, Girly Bits, Serum No. 5, and Black Cat Lacquer

CrowsToes Shiny, Happy People is a shimmery thermal polish that changes from a bright grassy green (warm) to a slightly deeper tealy green (cool). It is packed with translucent white flakies with scattered silver holo glitters. Formula was very easy to work with and I got full coverage in 3 thin coats (though I think 2 regular coats would have been perfect.) The thermal shift is subtle, but more apparent in real life than I could capture on camera because it is varied shades of green not two completely different colors (you can see the "cool" state really well as the bottle color in my pics though). It stays mostly in the warm state on me because it is very hot where I live and I'm hot natured. I'm a green lover, so this polish is right up my alley. The flakes and the subtle addition of scattered holo bits is just perfection.

Pretty & Polished Dark Arts Collection (Partial)

*Press Samples*

Hi everyone! Today I have four polishes to share with you from Pretty & Polished's Dark Arts Collection. I love this collection so much and one of the things that I find the most fun about it is that it really feels like Chels got out her secret potions and pigments in her lab to create this mysterious and magical set of polishes because they all have one or more special properties (color changings, glow-in-the-dark, matte, duochrome flakes). Well let's check them out!

Liquid Sky Lacquer Fuchsia Illusion

*Purchased by me*

Hi everyone! I have a gorgeous thermal holo to share with you today from Liquid Sky Lacquer. Fuchsia Illusion is a soft linear holographic polish that transitions from purple to fuchsia pink. This color is so gorgeous in both its warm and cold states. Formula was great and I used 3 thin coats for this mani. The holographic effect is softer than a lot of holos that I've encountered, but it is actually a little stronger in real life than my pictures showed. Liquid Sky Lacquer does gorgeous thermals and the fact that this one is also holographic makes it even more fun!

Here is a full transition from cool to warm:

Liquid Sky Lacquer is available from creator Carolyn's Big Cartel Shop as well as from Llarowe (US),Color4Nails (US), Mei Mei's Signatures (Singapore),  Norway Nails (Norway), Atouts Charme(France), Rainbow Connection (UK), Femme Fatale Cosmetics (Australia), and Harlow & Co.(Cananda).  Follow Liquid Sky Lacquer on Facebook and Instagram for swatches and info on restocks and new collections. Different Dimension Have a Grape Day with Stamping

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been slacking a bit with posts this week. We are going through a major computer system overhaul at work, so I've been pretty much too exhausted to function when I get home (physically and mentally). Funnily enough, I still do my nails because it sort of zens me out when I'm like that.

Today I have a super gorgeous thermal polish from Different Dimension's Spring Collection called Have a Grape Day. The base goes from purple (cold) to bright blue (warm) and has a fantastic orange/pink shimmer throughout. I read initial reviews of this collection and bloggers mentioned that the formula was sheer and jelly-like, but the formula of my bottle was more creamy and opaque. I'm not sure if there was a formula change since the inital polishes were sent to be reviewed by bloggers or if this is just an anomaly of my bottle, but it was completely opaque in 2 coats. I added a teensy bit of thinner to the polish because I found it a tad thick at first, but then it applied like a dream. This polish wouldn't even have to be a thermal for me to love it because it is so gorgeous cold or warm, but that is just an added bonus. This is my favorite thermal to date in my collection.

After I wore if by itself for a day, I decided to add some stamping. I used Bundle Monster plate BM-205 and Konad White for stamping and then added dots of OPI Toucan Do It If You Try for the flower centers.

Different Dimension polishes are available from their Etsy Shop as well as Llarowe (US), Mei Mei' Signatures (Singapore), and Rainbow Connection (UK). Follow them on Facebook and Instagram to see updates on restocks and new collections as well as to see lots of swatches.

Liquid Sky Lacquer Just Lucky

Hi everyone! Today I have a thermal polish for you from Liquid Sky Lacquer. This was my first foray into thermal polish and I really enjoyed playing with it! I think I had it really warm in my house that day (or I am really warm?) but when I was indoors the "warm" color prevailed. Only when I washed my hands with cold water or went outside did I get the "cold" effect, which would linger for a bit and then fade back to "warm". I wanted the cool "french mani effect" at my tips, but I think my nails are just too short for that to last long. It would last for a minute or so when I came in from outside and then it would fade back to the "warm" color. Liquid Sky Lacquer has some other really nice looking thermal polishes and I look forward to trying a few more of them!

Just Lucky was released for Chinese New Year and it shifts from gold (warm) to red (cold) and it has a wonderful golden shimmer. The formula was very nice. This was 3 coats of Just Lucky. I loved the red (cold) and I loved it when it was transitioning but I didn't love the gold (warm) look on my skintone especially. I think I will stamp over it next time for a cool effect.
