Indie Inlinkz: Favorite Fall Color
*Some Press Samples Included*
Hi everyone! Today I'm doing a link-up with the ladies of Indie Inlinkz, a group of lovely bloggers who do a monthly link-up featuring indie polishes. For this month's prompt, we are exploring our favorite fall color! It's no secret that I'm an orange lover (yes that's me...sitting in the corner by myself), and I've amassed quite a collection of orange indies that are perfect for fall. Whether it be more burnt oranges or bright Halloween oranges, I don't discriminate. I have way more fabulous oranges than this in my collection (MANY that are more summer appropriate), but I picked out 8 great ones to share today that I think are fall appropriate. I'm sure I probably left out some that I love, but this is all my brain could come up with in the wee hours of the morning when I was putting this post together (just being real). These photos were taken anytime from last week to over a year and a half ago, so they are all over the place when it comes to poses, lighting, etc.. so just bear with me! Also I few of them are no longer available, so I apologize for that, but I just had to share them because they are favorites of mine!

Smitten Polish Terra Opal with Stamping
*Press Sample*
Hi everyone! Just like the massive upcoming KBShimmer Collection I spoke about yesterday, I have another upcoming collection from Smitten Polish in my clutches that is a MUST HAVE and I'm giving you a bit of a teaser today. They are neon jellies with iridescent flakies y'all! SO PRETTY! I've worn two so far, and I didn't want to take either of them off. I will hopefully have swatches up early next week of this 4 piece collection (they will be available for pre-order on April 24th), but for now I wanted to share some stamping I did with one of them.
For this mani, I used Smitten Polish Terra Opal (neon green jelly with iridescent flakies) as the base and then stamped with an image from MoYou London's Kaleidoscope plate 6 and Mundo de Unas Black. I ordered a Creative Nail Stamper from Color 4 Nails and this was my very first time using it and I really think I'm going to enjoy it. It picked up my image well and stamped very crisply. I also had a pretty easy time getting my images centered and straight (which is crucial for symmetrical images like these), which was fantastic. It's probably the most difficult thing for me to do when I stamp, which is why you see a lot of questionably placed/lopsided images from me. These definitly weren't perfect, but a nice improvement over my usual mess. Overall, I'm very excited to play with it more!

CYNA 12 Day of Christmas: Christmas Trees
*Nothing to Disclose*
Hi everyone! For today's Challenge Your Nail Art 12 Days of Christmas prompt, we are all doing our take on Christmas trees. For my mani, I did a version of Nailside's Abstract Christmas Tree Tutorial. I started with a base of Elevation Polish Tre Cime di Lavaredo and let it dry completely. Then I taped off my design using striping tape and painted on Literary Lacquers A Thousand Christmas Trees (perfect polish to use, eh?) Then removed the striping tape and added a dot of Smitten Polish Nose So Bright at the top of each tree. I topcoated my design after I let it dry for several minutes to avoid smearing. I used 3 thin coats of Literary Lacquers A Thousand Christmas Trees on all of my other nails to finish off my look. I thought these turned out perfectly and I was really proud of how well all of the polishes worked together for this look. Tape manis always look so difficult, but they are usually pretty easy to pull off.
Don't forget to check out what all of the other lovely ladies have done today! Thanks for looking everyone!

CYNA 12 Days of Christmas Challenge: Snowflakes
*Nothing to Disclose*
Hi everyone! Today is the first day of Challenge Your Nail Art's 12 Days of Christmas Challenge. I don't know if I will be able to participate the whole time, but I'm going to try to do as many as I can because I love Christmas-inspired manis! The first prompt was snowflakes, and I took the obvious route for me: stamping. I knew what colors I wanted to use for a base and a stamp, but I had to pick a snowflake design. I was looking through my Bundle Monster plates and I actually have 2 snowflake plates that I have used before, but I found a 3rd one that is sort of snowflake-esque, but it also might be flowers. I thought that one might be the most appropriate for me since in south Alabama we never see real snowflakes, so a snowflake-esque flower is usually as close as I will get to snow.
For this mani, I started off with a base of Smitten Polish Nimbus, a super pale grey linear holo (the closest thing to a white holo I have). Next I used Bundle Monster plate BM-321 and Sally Hansen Insta Dri Brisk Blue. Definitely a bit of a rush job with the stamping, but it isn't my worst either. :) Earlier, I discovered that Traci over at Newsie Nail Novice and I almost have twinsie nails today, so that shows you what a perfect polish Nimbus is to get you in a snowy mood!
If you want to join in, the prompts are for every other day all the way up until Dec 23!
Be sure to check out what everyone else did for today's prompt! Thanks for looking everyone!

I think that Noelie has done some amazing work on this polish because I never thought a jelly this pale would have such great coverage! Also...it's mint...and mint is a weakness of mine... All around, it's just a fab polish!

Smitten Polish Endless Sunset - Edgy Polish Exclusive
*Press Sample*
Hi everyone! Today I have a gorgeous Smitten Polish to show you that is an Edgy Polish exclusive. Endless Sunset is a bright peachy-orange jelly base packed with silver holographic microglitter. Formula was great and was opaque in 2 coats. I used a thicker topcoat + quick dry topcoat to get it glassy smooth. This is such a bright and fun polish! The color of this polish was terrible difficult to capture, but this was as close as I could get with some adjusting. It has even a little more of a pinky/coral tone to it in real life. If you have Safety Dance, which is the orange holo from the summer collection, just know that it is the same base color but it is a microglitter instead of a holo. Hopefully that will be a big help for you Smitten Polish lovers out there because I know you likely have snagged that one already.
OTT Light. You can see the corally tones best here but it still isn't perfect. (I tried guys! I really tried!)
Natural Light. These are even more color innacurate. They make it look more of an carrot orange but it really does have this awesome pinky coral leaning quality to it that my camera refuses to pick up. It is gorgeous, just trust me guys! I think there is some sort of neon pigment at play here that exists only to be beautiful and frustrating to photograph.
As I said, Endless Sunset will be exclusively available at Edgy Polish in Sweden (owner Katarina ships internationally at very reasonable prices).
Other Smitten Polishes are available in creator Noelie's Big Cartel Shop as well as Femme Fatale Cosmetics, and Shoppe Eclecticco. Be sure to follow Smitten Polish on Facebook and Instagram for updates on restocks and new collections. Thanks for looking everyone!

Smitten Polish Summer 2014 Collection Swatch and Review
*Press Samples*
Hi everyone! Today I have Smitten Polish's Summer 2014 Collection to share with you! This collection consists of 5 new holographic microglitter polishes and 3 new holos in beautiful summery colors.
I'm going to start off telling you about formula so I don't have to repeat myself over and over throughout the post...
For the holo microglitter polishes, the formula is practically identical on all of them. They all start off on the sheer side, but build up nicely in 3 thin coats (you can get away with 2 coats of Her Name Was Rose and The Oncoming Storm if you are careful because their bases are more saturated) I found that they applied quite easily and weren't runny, which was great because I didn't want to have to worry about clean-up with microglitter (which can get everywhere if you are having to do a lot of clean-up). For all of them, I recommend using 1 coat of a thicker topcoat (I use Essence Gel-Look Topcoat) and then 1 coat of a quick dry topcoat (I use NYC Grand Central Station) to smooth them out to a glassy finish.
For the holos, the formulas were basically the same on all of those as well. I thought they all looked best at 3 thin coats. No special base or topcoats are required with these and I did not find that topcoat dulled the holographic effect.
So now...on to the pretties!
Jellyfish Rave is a light purple/lavender jelly base filled with silver microglitter. When I first saw this, I thought it was going to be super sheer, but it built up so nicely on the nail. I think it is because the microglitter is really fine and thus gets opaque even with a lighter base. The sheerer base also allows for ultimate sparkle of the holo glitter to shine through.
Seahorse Rodeo is a turquoise jelly base filled with silver holo microglitter. It had a similar sheer quality to it like Jellyfish Rave, but also built up just as nicely. This polish definitely does look like it is straight out of the sea, and is perfect for a summer mani!
Her Name Was Rose has a raspberry jelly base with silver holo microglitter. The color is beautiful and and saturated and covers well in 2 coats. I've been on a pink kick lately, so this polish was really a winner for me. It reminds me of some sort of delicious sparkling jam.
The Oncoming Storm has a royal blue jelly base with silver holo microglitter. The color is deep and rich, even a touch darker in real life than in pictures. Because of the darker color of the base, two coat covered perfectly for this polish. This is a stunning shade!
This is My Tiara! is an opaque silver holo microglitter in a clear base. This is all glitter folks! This is the only one of the holo glitters that does not have a tinted base, but the glitter is very dense so it easily becomes opaque on its on with no undies! This is super sparkly and fun! I wore this to lunch with my mom and the waitress was grabbing my hand asking me where I got it. By the way...how do you answer that question when normal people ask you without sounding a bit crazy? LOL! MUGGLES DON'T KNOW WHAT INDIE POLISH IS!
By the way, both this polish and the next one I'm going to show you were inspired by Amy Farrah Fowler off of The Big Bang Theory (and the tiara episode is one of my favorites from her).
Girl Sprouts is a medium, grass green linear holo. I mean...just look at it. This polish is practically perfect in every way (ya know...as Mary Poppins would say). The holo flame on this polish is insane and the color is just lovely. It seems to have an ever so slight golden twinge to it that really sets it off.
Nuclear Sunshine is a near neon yellow linear holo. This polish is so insanely bright and gorgeous! I know that yellows don't work on everyone, but this one seems to have a slight greenish twinge to it that makes it look flattering on me. I'm actually wearing this one today and I enjoyed it so much on my car ride to work as it flashed in the sun!
Safety Dance is a corally orange linear holo. This one leans slightly more pink in real life than it looks in pics. Gah, this polish is gorgeous! If you are an orange/coral lover like me, you need this polish STAT!
The Smitten Polish Summer 2014 Collection is set to be released on 6/29 for pre-order in Smitten Polish's Big Cartel Shop (time TBA). Smitten Polish can also be purchased Femme Fatale Cosmetics, Edgy Polish, and Shoppe Eclecticco. Be sure to follow Smitten Polish on Facebook and Instagram for updates on restocks and new collections. Thanks for looking everyone!

Amy: I guess it must have been back with I was in the Girl Sprouts.
Bernadette: Girl Sprouts?
Amy: My mom made it up as an alternative to the Girl Scouts. She didn't want me selling cookies on some street corner like a whore.
