Rachel, formerly part of the duo behind Ever After Polish made a big move across the country this year and thus she is branching off and starting a brand new independent venture with Rogue Lacquer. Hi everyone! Today I have swatches of the shimmery half of Zoya's summer collections, the Paradise Sun Collection. For the most part, these colors pair up really nicely with the creme shades in the Island Fun half of the summer collection, so they would work really nicely for some tone on tone nail art. All of these polishes are packed with shimmery glass flecks which really pop in the shade, so I tried my best to capture them in all their glory in my pictures.

Pahlish Fields of Gold: Exclusive for March's A Box, Indied

Hi everyone! Today I have Pahlish's contribution to March's A Box, Indied. The theme for March's box is "Lucky Charms", and in addition to Pahlish there are also contributions from Contrary Polish, Girly Bits, Colors by Llarowe, and Glisten & Glow. This box will go on sale on February 26th on Llarowe's website at noon and 7 PM MST. Be sure to follow Llarowe on Facebook to see previews of the other polishes in the box.

Pahlish Fields of Gold is burnished gold metallic shimmer PACKED with metallic flakes in golds and bronzes as well as holographic sparkle. Formula was nice and spread easily. It looked like it was going to be sheer on the first coat, but provided complete coverage with the second coat. I also love that this polish was very easy to control and not runny so I had to do almost zero clean-up. That is super important with polishes with metallic shimmer like this because you DO NOT want it getting on your skin because it will get everywhere. This is a gold lover's dream polish! I sometimes don't care for warm golds like this on me, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Pair this with your favorite green polish, and you will have the perfect St. Patrick's Day mani!

Per usual, Lauri has created a set of polishes that celebrate her TRUE feelings about Valentine's Day. While some of the polish colors may seem romantic, the names are definitely not all hearts and flowers. Another thing I would like to note is that this collection has a little bit of everything! Darling Diva Polish I Hate Pink with Stamped Roses

Hi everyone! Today I have the mani I wore a week ago for Mother's Day. I'm SO behind! I have a backlog of manis to post that I will get to over the next few days. I started off with a base of Darling Diva Polish I Hate Pink. I'm going to do some regular swatches of it soon because it is just too gorgeous! It is a medium pink holographic with strong metallic pink flake shimmer. The shimmer is amazing! I thought roses would be good for Mother's Day, so I stamped using Essie Penny Talk and BM-323.

30 Day Challenge, Day 11: Tape Mani

Hi everyone! Today's prompt in the 30 Day Challenge was Tape Mani. I really love tape manis that utilize different finishes, so I went with a super shiny base polish and a creme topper on my two middle nails. My base was Sally Hansen Celeb City (silver foil) topped with 2 coats of Indigo Bananas Clair de Lune, a super shiny silver flake polish. I then taped off my design with striping tape and applied 2 coats of KBShimmer Touch of Glass, a soft aqua creme. My other nails are all 3 thin coats of KBShimmer Touch of Glass.

KBShimmer Touch of Glass was a touch streaky on the first coat, but I found using 3 thin coats made it just perfect. I actually really love the formula/texture of creme polishes like this because I found it easy to control. It has a tiny bit of silver shimmer in it, but it doesn't really show on the nail, it just gives the overall appearance of the polish sort of an airbrushed look or something (basically...it looks perfect.)

Here you can see Indigo Bananas Clair de Lune before I added the taped design. This polish is insanely reflective. You can see the reflection of my blue camera in my nail in the second picture! In addition to the silver flake, there are also some scattered purple flakes and holo bits. Such a gorgeous polish!

OPI Live.Love.Carnaval with Lacquistry Amazeballz Accents

Hi everyone! Today I have my first (but not last) purchase from OPI's Brazil Collection for Spring/Summer. When this collection first came out, I didn't give them much thought. Now, all of a sudden, I have some sort of creme infatuation going on so I want several more of them.

OPI Live.Love.Carnaval is a bright orangey coral creme. I was immediately drawn to this polish when I saw the display in person. It has such a fun brightness about it and it had to come home with me. The formula was fantastic and perfectly smooth and opaque at 2 coats.This would be a fantastic pedi color as well.

I don't have a ton of coral cremes in my collection, so I did not have any dupes but I could see being more careful if you have a lot of them. I did see some coral comparisons at imabeautygeek.com and Peachy Polish so those might be a helpful resource for those of you with lots of coral cremes.

Lacquistry Amazeballz is a clear based (slightly gold tinted) polish filled to the brim with shiny gold flakes. This polish is SUPER REFLECTIVE (I could literally see my reflection in my nail). The flakes lie perfectly smooth and flat on the nail so there is no need for thick topcoat. I used a base of Sally Hansen Golden-I and then layered on 3 thin coats of Amazeballz so that it was pretty much opaque. It is truly a special polish. I feel like it is so eye catching that it works best as an accent, as I have used it in this mani. I thought the gold was a nice accent with the coral creme.

I have seen the OPI Brazil Collection out everywhere that OPI is sold, but I purchased mine from Sally Beauty (so glad they carry OPI now!).

Scofflaw Just Another Candy Cane Polish with Candy Cane Stripe Accents

Hi everyone! Today I have a mani I've been planning since I bought this Scofflaw back on Black Friday. As soon as I saw the limited edition Just Another Candy Cane Polish (that Scofflaw only made available on Black Friday and in limited quantities at Llarowe), I knew I had to have it and that I would do metallic red stripes over it. I waited for my Mom's family Christmas celebration to do it.

Scofflaw Just Another Candy Cane Polish has a white jelly base with silver holographic glitter, red glitter, white glitter, and silver shimmering flecks throughout. I did 2 coats over OPI Don't Touch My Tutu for this mani, but it would have been fine without the base at 2-3 coats. The formula was excellent and I love the sparkle and shimmer going on. Here are two pics of it before I added the stripes.

 

Next I taped off my nails using striping tape and painted on Butter London Knees Up for the stripes. I used two strips of tape in some places to make wider stripes.
