Elevation Polish Pata Puffer II over Elevation Polish Pic du Gar

Hi everyone! Today I have a layering combo from Elevation Polish that I simply adored! I used Pata Puffer II over Pic du Gar for my mani because I thought they blended perfectly.

Pic du Gar is an effortless plum crelly polish. The formula was absolute perfection (as I have found is true for Elevation Polish cremes) and for my base here I used 2 easy coats. It definitely leans redder on the purple spectrum (maybe even a touch more than my pictures show). I think the pictures where my fingers are flat show the color most accurately.

Pata Puffer II is a mix of purple and pink glitters (metallic mostly, with a few matte purples). There are even circle glitters in there, so you know it is is a winner in my book! I used 2 ish coats (really 1 coat plus I dabbed a little of a second coat to fill in a few spaces). It gave an ideal glitter coverage to me (not to dense, not too sparse). It was also a very smooth glitter that didn't require gobs of topcoat to smooth out. I used 1 coat of Essence Gel Look Topcoat followed by 1 coat of NYC Grand Central Station and it was glassy smooth.

Elevation Polish is available from creator Lulu's Big Cartel Store. She has a lot of info on restock dates and availability on the Big Cartel site as well as on her blog. Her shop is restocked on the 7th and 22nd each month unless otherwise noted. Elevation Polish is also stocked at Llarowe

Thanks for looking everyone!

Colors by Llarowe Smooth Criminal

Hi everyone! Today I have a stunner for you from Colors by Llarowe. I picked up Smooth Criminal at Colors by Llarowe's latest pre-order and it arrived pretty quickly. It is a periwinkle holo with a strong holo flame. Formula was fantastic and requires no special base or topcoat. For my accent nail, I used striping tape and followed I Dream of Lacquer's tutorial here. It was really pretty easy to do, just a bit time consuming to place the tape just right. I used American Apparel Hassid as my black creme for the taped accent. It wasn't perfect, but I was pretty proud of it for a first attempt!

Here are a few pics of Smooth Criminal on its own. 2 easy coats here.

Colors by Llarowe are available exclusively from Llarowe (although I think I saw that they would be carried by Harlow & Co. in Canada soon). They are all sold out right now, but Leah Ann restocks them pretty regularly and also opens up for pre-orders sometimes, so grab it if you get a chance! Thanks for looking!

OPI DS Divine over Pretty Serious The Pink One

Hi everyone! I have been on the hunt for an eye-searing hot pink holo, and this weekend I got bored and tried to layer one to my liking. I always feel like the really holo pinks out there are just too silvery and muted for what I'm looking for. So here goes nothing!

For this mani, I layered 2 coats of OPI DS Divine (which I find a little muted on its own) over the searing bright pink of Pretty Serious The Pink One. I think the brightness would have shone through more at one coat of DS Divine, but it wasn't holo enough for me like that so I added another coat. It looked pretty bright in the sun especially. It was a pretty mani if nothing else, but still not fulfilling the lemming I have for a super bright pink. I want a pink holo bordering on neon. I got close, but my search is still on! I'm hoping my nail mail in the next few weeks might contain the perfect one (I'll keep you guys posted).

Here is Pretty Serious The Pink One alone. The camera just can't even capture how bright this one is. It is stunning and as I've said before, a must have for pink lovers!

Pretty Serious Cosmetics' polishes are available from their website as well as from several stockists internationally (full list here).

Do you have any recommendations for an eye-searing pink holo for me? I have Nailnation 3000 Amazeballz and Darling Diva Polish Rooms on Fire on the way to me, so I'm hoping one of those will fit the bill. Thanks for looking everyone!!

Darling Diva Polish Dangerous Driver over Elevation Polish Pic de Sottlo

Hi everyone! Today I'm revisiting an old favorite, Darling Diva Polish Dangerous Driver. Dangerous Driver is a mixture of red/green color morphing pigment and holographic pigment in a clear base, so it's meant to be layered over other colors. I've previously posted a mani wearing it over a dark purple creme, which was amazing. This time I decided to layer 1 coat of Dangerous Driver over Elevation Polish Pic de Sottlo, a royal blue crelly. This combo rocked!

Enchanted Polish Green Goblin

Hi everyone! I'm not sure how it happened exactly, but I guess I've turned January into "Holo Month" here on Lavish Layerings. I guess I'm just in a holo mood lately. Today I have a beauty from Enchanted Polish to show you. My pal Linda gave me Green Goblin last year in a secret swap because I had been lemming it for ages. Unfortunately, it has been long discontinued so it's really hard to find now (and if you do...it's pretty pricey).

Enchanted Polish Green Goblin is a bright, grass green holo. The color is even brighter in certain lights than it appears in my photos. The holographic effect is pretty middle of the road (not the strongest linear, but not the weakest). The formula is smooth and pretty opaque with this one and has a more metallic finish vs a jelly finish. No special base or topcoats are needed.  Isn't it a beauty?

Enchanted Polish is available from their Big Cartel shop as well as from Nail Polish Canada (Canada), Mei Mei's Signatures (Singapore), and Femme Fatale Cosmetics (Australia). As I said, Green Goblin is discontinued, but creator Chelsea makes lots of gorgeous holos. These polishes sell out really quickly, so be sure to check out restock times so you can snatch them up when you can! Thanks for looking everyone!

Halo Hues Skittles

Hi everyone! I recently started following @scratchureyesout on Instagram and she did a beautiful Color Club Halo Hues skittle mani and it inspired me to pull out my Halo Hues. I used (thumb-pinky) Cosmic Fate, Angel Kiss, Miss Bliss, Over the Moon, and Kismet for this mani. I stamped with Beyond and Bundle Monster plate BM 404 from the new Create Your Own set. These holos are so blindingly awesome!

And here they are on their own. I think all holo lovers need to get these.

Pretty simple mani, but I really enjoyed it! I need to do more skittles in the future. Thanks for looking everyone!

Liquid Sky Lacquer Forget-Me-Not

Hi everyone! Today I have a beautiful holo from Liquid Sky Lacquer to share with you. Forget-Me-Not is a recent release from Liquid Sky Lacquer and it is a lovely periwinkle holo. It really toes the line between blue and purple. It also looks like it might have the slightest pink sheen to it. Even though it is advertised as a soft (light) holo, I thought the holo flame was really nice on this one. The formula was absolutely dreamy as well. I thought the overall effect of this polish was very delicate and ladylike.

Liquid Sky Lacquer is available from creator Carolyn's Big Cartel Shop as well as from Llarowe (US),Color4Nails (US), Mei Mei's Signatures (Singapore),  Norway Nails (Norway), Atouts Charme(France), Rainbow Connection (UK), Femme Fatale Cosmetics (Australia), and Harlow & Co.(Cananda).  Follow Liquid Sky Lacquer on Facebook and Instagram for swatches and info on restocks and new collections. Darling Diva Polish We Are the Champions

Hi everyone! Today I have a polish from Darling Diva Polish's Queen Collection for you. We are the Champions is a multichrome holo that shifts from gold/green/silver. It reminds me of a holographic version of Chanel Peridot and its dupes. This polish was very reflective and awesome on the nail. I wasn't sure how I would feel about it since polishes with strong gold in them are hit or miss on me, but I actually really liked it. You can wear it alone, but I chose to layer 2 coats over a-England Princess Sabra.

Jade Over the Rainbow

Hi everyone! Today I have a gorgeous polish from Jade called Over the Rainbow. This is from their most recent holographic polish release (from spring or summer of 2013?) and I absolutely adore it! The color is very saturated (probably even more than my pictures show) and the holographic flame is fantastic. I think I would perhaps call the color orchid because it is a good mix of pink and purple (it leans a bit more purple in real life than my pics show). For those of you out there desiring a good orchid color for the "Pantone Color of the Year", this would be a nice one!

I really feel like sometimes the Jade holos are under-appreciated in the nail community, so do not overlook the beauties! In my experience, they all have fantastic formulas and require no special base or topcoat so they are not finicky holos (which is always a plus). Jade Holographic polishes are avialable from Llarowe (US), Ninja Polish (US), and Color4Nails (US). Thanks for looking everyone!

Darling Diva Polish Space Beetle

Hi everyone! Today I have an oldie but goodie from Darling Diva Polish called Space Beetle. This polish was created to as a holographic version of Hard Candy Beetle/Orly Space Cadet. It has a very dense glass-flecked shimmer that shifts from plum/mauve/green/gold (much like beetle wings) with the addition of a holographic flame. I really prefer to wear this one layered, so I layered 2 coats over Sinful Colors In the Mist (a medium sage green creme). It such a crazy blingy polish, you really have to see it in person to appreciate all that is going on here. Space Beetle is now discontined, but creator Carrie did realease a very short run of it a few weeks back when she found some of the pigment hidden away.

KBShimmer Teal Another Tale

Hi everyone! Today I have a gorgeous polish from KBShimmer's Fall 2013 Collection for you called Teal Another Tale. I saw swatches of this and thought it was nice when this collection was released, but I didn't know until I got it and saw it on my nails just how fabulous it was. It has a bright teal jelly base packed with pink shimmer flecks which have a golden duochrome quality to them. There are also specks of holographic microglitter throughout the polish which give it even more interest. The formula flowed smoothly and seemed sheer on the first coat, but built up nicely by the second coat. This is 2 coats of Teal Another Tale.

KBShimmer polishes are available from their website as well as from Harlow & Co. (Canada). Be sure to follow them on Facebook and Instagram for updates on new collections and to see swatches of all of their polishes. Thanks for looking everyone!
