Hare Polish Daddy Warlock for October's A Box, Indied

Hi everyone! Today I have Hare Polish's contribution to October's A Box, Indied. The theme for the September box is "Bewitched!" and all of the polish have a mystical, magical theme that's perfect for Halloween. October's box is also a very special all holo box, so if you are a holo lover you definitely want to pick this one up. Other participants in the October box include Colors by Llarowe, Girly Bits, Serum No. 5, and Different Dimension. The October box releases this Saturday (September 26) at 12 PM MDT on Llarowe's website. 

Hare Polish Daddy Warlock is a black linear holo filled with multi colored ultra chrome flakes, gold flakes, and reddish/coppery flakes. Formula was super easy to work with and I got full coverage in 3 thin coats. All of the colors look so beautiful swimming against the inky black base and make for a truly magical polish. It's definitely not your average black holo and I would expect nothing less from Hare Polish!

Hi everyone! Today I have Hare Polish's contribution to September's A Box, Indied. The theme for the September box is "Opposites Attract" and it features finishes and/or effects that the makers don't typically make in their own lines. Hare Polish Inverse Universe is a deep burgundy jelly holo filled with ultra chrome flakies. Formula is very nice with complete coverage in 2 coats. Hare Polish has never done a full on holo before (only scattered ones) but the addition of the flakies really give it that Hare personality. It's still not an "in your face" holo because of the multitude of flakies, but it's definitely the most holo Hare that Nikole has ever made. This polish is pure vampy gorgeousness and among my favorite ultra chrome flakie polishes to date.

CrowsToes Shiny Happy People for September's A Box, Indied

Hi everyone! Today I have CrowsToes' contribution to September's A Box, Indied. The theme for the September box is "Opposites Attract" and it features finishes and/or effects that the makers don't typically make in their own lines. Other participants in the September box include Hare Polish, Girly Bits, Serum No. 5, and Black Cat Lacquer

CrowsToes Shiny, Happy People is a shimmery thermal polish that changes from a bright grassy green (warm) to a slightly deeper tealy green (cool). It is packed with translucent white flakies with scattered silver holo glitters. Formula was very easy to work with and I got full coverage in 3 thin coats (though I think 2 regular coats would have been perfect.) The thermal shift is subtle, but more apparent in real life than I could capture on camera because it is varied shades of green not two completely different colors (you can see the "cool" state really well as the bottle color in my pics though). It stays mostly in the warm state on me because it is very hot where I live and I'm hot natured. I'm a green lover, so this polish is right up my alley. The flakes and the subtle addition of scattered holo bits is just perfection.

CrowsToes Last Light for July's A Box, Indied

Hi everyone! Today I have CrowsToes' addition to July's A Box, Indied. The theme for July is Summer Daze, and there will be 4 other contributors to the box besides CrowsToes, but I'm unsure who they are at this point, so stay tuned to Llarowe's Facebook page for more details on the other pretties that will be included in the box along with exact launch dates and times (it typically launches on the 26th of each month).

CrowsToes Last Light is a metallic royal purple with heavy blue shimmer and red flecks.  Formula was super easy to work with and it was opaque in 2 easy coats. Because of the blue shimmer, it appears a little more cool toned in pictures than in real life, but I would say it is a true purple, not too warm or cool toned. I've been a purple shimmer fiend since the very beginning of my polish obsession, and this one is a stunner! It really just glows and the blue shimmer almost makes it look like a duochrome polish in certain lights. It's a really bright, saturated purple that is pretty much all that you could ask for if you are a purple shimmer lover. Based on the name, I'm assuming this polish was inspired by the gorgeous purple that the sky turns as the sun is setting in the summer. It's one of nature's glorious marvels, and what a pretty tribute to it!

Pahlish Quite Ribbiting from April's A Box, Indied

Hi everyone! My final preview for April's A Box, Indied is Pahlish's contribution, Quite Ribbiting. As I mentioned in my last post, the other contributors to the April Fools' themed box are Hare Polish, CrowsToes, Black Cat Lacquers, and Serum No. 5. Pahlish Quite Ribbiting is a deep teal holo filled with blue shimmer. Formula spread smoothly and easily with full coverage at 2 coats. This polish is so gorgeous! The blue shimmer really pops against the teal base (much more in real life) and is so pretty! Because it has a lot of shimmer, the holo has a looser linear effect but it is much more sparkly in person. My camera has a tough time with teals and always wants to make them lean more blue. The last picture is a snap from my iPhone and it is the most color accurate of the bunch and you can see that it leans slightly more green than my camera pics are showing.

Hare Polish Trust No One. Suspect Everyone. for April's A Box, Indied.

Hi everyone! Guess what? I have ANOTHER A Box, Indied polish to share with you today and this one is from Hare Polish. This is another addition to the upcoming April Fools'-themed box for April. At this point, I think I've identified all of the makers involved in the box, so in addition to Hare Polish there will be polishes from CrowsToes, Pahlish, Black Cat Lacquer, and Serum No. 5. I've already previewed the CrowsToes here and I am planning on having a preview of the Pahlish this evening. Hare Polish Trust No One. Suspect Everyone. is a lime green jelly filled with white and green matte glitters, iridescent orange glitters, and blue iridescent shimmer. Formula on this polish is very nice and it builds up to squishy opacity in 3 coats. You can still see a slight visible nail line at 3 coats in some lights because this polish is very jellyish, but it wasn't the sort that bothered me (but if you really hate VNL, you can always layer it over a coordinating color if desired). I'm so in love with this polish! It's such a fun and funky green and the type of glitters and glitter density are absolutely perfect! The shimmer also adds beautiful depth that really makes this polish amazing. I fell head over heels in love last year with one of Hare's A Box Indied polishes (The Blooming Desert) and I'm having similar feels for this one!

Elevation Polish Rose Cardamom Chocolate Truffles for February's A Box, Indied

Hi everyone! Today I have the Elevation Polish exclusive for February's A Box, Indied to share with you. The theme of this box is "A Box, Candied", so all of the polishes are candy-themed. The other contributors to this box are Hare Polish, CrowsToes Nail Color, Serum No. 5, and Black Cat Lacquers. February's box will launch on January 26 at 12 PM and 7 PM Mountain time. Elevation Polish Rose Cardamom Chocolate Truffles is a dark chocolate brown creme with pink and bronze flakes and a sprinkling of holo pigment. The flakes in this polish are just dreamy and you can see them flash when you move your fingers. They are subtle in some lights, but really pop in others (and are EXTREMELY hard to photograph, they are much more apparent in real life...none of this was helped by the fact that there has not been sunlight in my neck of the woods for a WEEK now). The holo sparkle also adds a nice depth to the polish. Lulu loves her browns, and she did such an excellent job on this one! I know everyone isn't a brown lover (I used to be anti-brown myself) but this one just might change your mind! Also...now I want to try a Rose Cardamom Chocolate Truffle because that sounds very sexy and delicious!

CrowsToes Overtime 'Till Springtime for January's A Box, Indied

 Hi everyone! Today I have CrowsToes' contribution to January's A Box, Indied to share with you. The theme of this box is "New Debts, New Diets, New Polish!" and this polish fits right in with that theme. Lauri told me that she wanted to create a glitterbomb using all coin-colored glitters and that is just what she did. These boxes will go on sale towards the end of December (keep watch on Llarowe's Facebook page for exact dates and times because I'm not sure if/how the holidays will affect the timing of the restock).

CrowsToes Overtime 'Till Springtime is a clear-based glitter topper filled with copper, silver, and gunmetal metallic and holo glitters. The formula was very nice and spread well with great glitter distribution. I chose to pair it with two different bases, the dark green to go with the "money" theme and the purple just because I thought it paired so well. I can see this looking nice over a variety of base colors though since metal colors are pretty neutral and go with everything. Another winner in the CrowsToes glitterbomb department!

Hump Day Hare: The Blooming Desert

Hi everyone! Today I have a gorgeous fulfilled lemming to share with you guys. Hare Polish The Blooming Desert was an A Box, Indied exclusive that I missed out on and I was very fortunate to find it at a blog sale for a great price recently. It has now become one of my favorite Hare Polishes!

The Blooming Desert has a shimmering pink jelly base with white and orange glitters. The shimmer is just to die for! For this mani, I layered 2 coats of The Blooming Desert over China Glaze You Drive Me Coconuts. Eeeee....I love this mani so much!

Hi everyone! Boy, do I have a treat for you today...if you like candied brains (everyone does, right?). CrowsToes has a gorgeous glitterbomb for October's A Box, Indied. I know that Halloween is Lauri's favorite holiday, so I'm not surprised that her Halloween-themed contribution to the box is totally off the charts.

September's A Box, Indied Preview: CrowsToes Finnnally, IT'S HOODIE TIME and Contrary Polish The Mellower Season

Hi everyone! Today I have two polishes to share with you from September's A Box, Indied. The theme of September's Box is "Fall Into Fall", so these polishes have a fall theme. Today I have the polishes from CrowsToes and Contrary Polish to show you, but there will be 3 more products from other makers in the box as well (stay tuned to Llarowe's Facebook page to see all of them revealed in the next few days). September's A Box, Indied goes on sale August 26.

CrowsToes Finnnally, IT'S HOODIE TIME!! is a dusty blue jelly filled with medium and small orange glitters (holo and metallic). The formula is a dream to work with. It spreads easily and builds up nicely in 3 thin coats. It's sparkly and has amazing depth. This polish was inspired by creator Lauri's favorite Syracuse hoodie that she loves to wear when the weather starts to get chilly.

 

Contrary Polish The Mellower Season is a deep blue-leaning purple filled with copper and orange shimmer and flecks. Carrie warned me that the prototype was a little thick (which she corrected for the polishes that are being released in the box) so I added a little thinner and it applied perfectly. I used 3 thin coats for this mani. This polish is classic Contrary at its very best. It is rich and lovely and perfect for fall.
