Nail Pattern Boldness Heady Topper

*Purchased by Me*

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been a bit absent this week. I have a ton of upcoming stuff to show you, but I had to take a slight mental break from swatching/blogging this week. I'm going to be getting back to it this weekend, and next week should really kick things into high gear because I have lots and lots of stuff in my swatch queue. For today, I'm going to share a mani with you that I did AGES ago (I really don't even remember when I did it to be honest). Back around the first of the year, Llarowe had a major sale and I picked up a Nail Pattern Boldness polish that I had been eying for ages, and that's what today's post is about.

Nail Pattern Boldness' Heady Topper is a sparkling holo glitter topper filled with silver and gold microglitter in a slightly different sizes. Formula was really nice and it spread easily and the glitter coverage was great for a topper, but it was, of course, sheer so it let plenty of the base color shine through. I do not think this would be one I would try to wear on its own because it wouldn't build up easily, and it's really not meant to be worn that way. I used 2 coats of Heady Topper over China Glaze More to Explore from the spring Road Trip Collection. The thing that sets this apart from other holo glitter toppers is the use of the gold along with the silver and the varying sizes of the glitter, so I think it is a truly special topper. I really love versatile polishes like this that you can pretty much use over anything just to give your mani some extra bling!

Nail Pattern Boldness Thieving

Hi everyone! Today I have a polish from Nail Pattern Boldness' A Parliament of Magpies Collection to share. Be sure to check out this collection if you like microglitters, because it is completely made up of a variety of different colored microglitter polishes that creator Allison does so well.

Thieving is a royal blue microglitter with accents of red and lighter (and slightly larger) blue glitter. I layered 1 coat over China Glaze First Mate. The formula spread very easily with fantastic coverage. Loved this color combo!

Nail Pattern Boldness Lucky

Hi everyone! I have a glitter to share with you today from Nail Pattern Boldness' new collection A Parliament of Magpies. This collection is all fine glitter polishes (which I luuuurve) and today I have Lucky for you. Lucky is a green microglitter with splashes of red and gold slightly larger glitters in a clear base. The formula was very dense, so these could be worn solo if desired. I chose to layer 1 coat over Illamasqua Rampage for my mani. The formula was also very free-flowing and extremely easy to apply. Even though it isn't a Christmas polish per say, I thought it looked very festive so I wore it to a family Christmas dinner!

If you like microglitters, be sure to check out Lucky as well as the other offerings from the A Parliament of Magpies Collection which is available on Nail Pattern Boldness' new website. Be sure to follow on Facebook and Instagram for swatches as well as updates on new collections and restocks. Nail Pattern Boldness polishes are also available from Llarowe. Thanks for looking everyone!

Nail Pattern Boldness Elderberry

Hi everyone! In my last post, I showed you swatches of Zoya Dream and gushed about my love for the jelly scattered holo polishes like it. Here is yet another reason why I love them...they make fantastic bases for glitters! They add a wonderful depth, are opaque in 2 coats, clean-up is a breeze and staining is no issue. What more could you ask for?

I do want to switch the focus to the polish that is being highlighted in this post though because it is a stunner: Nail Pattern Boldness Elderberry. As soon as I saw this listed in Allison's Etsy Shop, I grabbed it immediately. The mixture of glitters in this polish is killer! There are blue, green, and fuchsia holographic microglitters in a clear base. I layered 2 coats over Zoya Dream for this mani. Just...LOVE!

Falling for Nail Art: The Great Pumpkin featuring Nail Pattern Boldness

Hi everyone! Today's nail art challenge was inspired by "The Great Pumpkin". I was going to do something freehand, but when I got Nail Pattern Boldness Frankenpussy, from the new Halloween collection, in the mail I just had to wear it so I opted for some stamping over the glittery base. Frankenpussy is a very dense orange microglitter with hints of fuchsia, purple, and yellow glitter throughout. For this mani I used 2 coats over OPI A Roll in the Hague. Then I stamped some pumpkins with Bundle Monster plates BM222, BM224, and BMH06 using Konad special black polish. The triple pumpkin design was a bit wide for my nail, but I got as much as I could on there.

And here is Frankenpussy over A Roll in the Hague before the stamping. Isn't it beautiful? I only have a few orange glitters in my collection, but this is my new favorite for sure!

Purple Shimmer Sundays: Ulta3 Orchid

Hi everyone! My pal and fellow purple shimmer lover Kristy, from The Polish Haven, and I have decided to start a new series called Purple Shimmer Sundays! When you have a lust for purple shimmers and have acquired as many as each of us has, you might as well take the time to showcase them. So every Sunday, we will each be bringing you pictures of a purple shimmer polish from our collections.

For today, I decided to show off a beauty that Kristy herself sent me from Australia, Ulta3 Orchid. Now if you don't know, Ulta3 is a drugstore brand in Australia that you can get for really cheap and they have some lovely polishes. In fact one of my favorite greens, Mojito, is from that line. Now Orchid is a one coater purple shimmer polish (just used 1 coat for these pictures). It is a little thick, but it spreads smoothly and easily. It has a lovely fine pink shimmer throughout that gives it an pink tone, but for some reason this all but disappears in pictures and that makes it look a bit darker than in real life. (I fail at capturing things sometimes *hangs head*)

Then I decided to do something I love to do with a lot of my purple shimmers: top it with a red/green color shifting topcoat. This time I used Nail Pattern Boldness Boop-Oop-a-Dupe, but with a little twist. Playing on the name of Orchid, I stamped some white flowers (from the Cheeky XL Wild at Heart plate) on my nails and then topped with 2 coats of Boop-Oop-a-Dupe. I think the effect is really neat, although it is now not really recognizable as a purple shimmer. As you can see, the tinted base of Boop-Oop-a-Dupe made the flowers look pink.

So what do you guys think about Purple Shimmer Sundays? Be sure to check out what purple shimmer Kristy has for today! Thanks for looking everyone!

Favorite Oranges/Corals

So, probably a year ago, I wouldn't have had many polishes on this list. Orange was a color that I didn't think would work on me, so I just didn't buy many. I did have a coral or two, but they leaned very much to the pink side of things. Here are a few that I've come to love. Some of them border on red, but to me they are more orange (and my red post is going to be craziness as it is, so I'm putting them here).

Model's Own Hedonist. I'm not sure what you call this color exactly. Neon red? Neon coral? I really don't care what you call it to be honest...all I know is that it is HOT HOT HOT!!

China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy (shown here with Lynnderella Connect the Dots). This is THE neon I think of when I think of neons. It was one of the first neons in my collection. It is a neon coral that is eye searing in real life. I will say, the formula (like with many neons) is not the greatest, but to me it is worth it for this one.

Scofflaw Nail Varnish David Bowie's Bulge. This bright coral polish is one I almost didn't get when I was placing my Scofflaw order, but it is one of my absolute favorites! The turquoise works so perfectly with the coral here.

Julie G Sugar Rush. This polish is one of my stand outs in the "textured" category...but with heaps of topcoat added. I could not stop gawking at the amazing shimmer that came out when I slapped on some Gelous. It looks pretty cool with no topcoat as well...but the topcoated version is amazing.

(with topcoat)

(without topcoat)

Pahlish Anticipating and Pacing. Wow. This polish is just stunning. The shimmer is to die for.

Quo by Orly Orange Pop. Bright orange crelly. Very summery and almost neon in some lights.

Essence Get Up! I mainly use this one for nail art. It is a true orange. As orangey orange as you can get.

Lynnderella Cauldron Drippings (over Essence Get Up!) This is the only (mostly) orange glitterbomb that I own so far. It is very orange and very Halloweeny, for sure.

China Glaze Riveting. This was the orange that made me decide I could "do" orange. I adore it. It is perfect.

OPI DS Luxurious. This is definitely a kissing cousin to China Glaze Riveting. I probably don't need both but gah they are so pretty!!

OPI DS Couture. Coral holo. So nice. Need I say more?

American Apparel Poppy. Once again...I'm not sure what color this is. In some lights it looks totally red (like in this picture) and other lights it looks totally orange. I really adore it and and it has a fantastic formula to boot.

OPI Y'all Come Back, Ya Hear? This is a perfectly squishy jelly that I adore. And perfect for jelly sandwiches too (as you will see in my second pic with Icing Tiger's Blood).

Layla Coral Glam. So...this isn't really coral...except for the name...but I still love it.

Nail Pattern Boldness Seppuku (With a Frisbee) -1 coat over Zoya Heidi. Gorgeous matte glitter!

Zoya Heidi. This was one of my very first orangey corals and I remember I almost swapped it away because I didn't think I could pull it off. I was disappointed when my Zoya order came because I wanted it to be more of a pinky coral. I'm glad I rescued it from swap purgatory because now it is my favorite coral creme.

Now, if I'm being honest with you, this is MOST of my orange/coral stash. Why do all of these make the list? I have to say, since orange is a color that I have historically been more leery of, I've been very careful when adding them to my stash and have only kept those that I REALLY love and think work for me. Therefore, I think it is a portion of my stash that is really culled down to only the gems.

Nail Pattern Boldness Tell Me How to Win Your Heart

Today I have a wonderful polish from Nail Pattern Boldness's Hello Collection called Tell Me How to Win Your Heart which is based, of course, on the lyrics of Lionel Richie's famous song. I adore fine glitters, and this one is superb. It is a mixture of red, pink, and purple microglitters in a clear base. I layered 1 coat over Essie No More Film and it really made the glitters pop.

Nail Pattern Boldness's Polishes can be purchased direct from creator Allison's Etsy Store as well as from Llarowe. Thanks for looking everyone!
