Falling Into Fall: Chaos & Crocodiles Fireside Nights over Zoya Claire

Hi everyone! Today I have another fall-inspired mani to share with you. Last winter, I picked up Chaos & Crocodiles Fireside Nights and I've been holding onto it for fall. The glitters are, of course, supposed to represent fire, but I think of falling leaves whenever I see this polish. I started off with a base of Zoya Claire (from the new Entice Collection) because I thought that the deep burgundy would really make the glitters pop. I used 2 coats of Fireside Nights over the base for this mani. Might I say, this glitter was so well behaved for a chunky glitter. It spread really well and smoothed out perfectly with 1 coat of a thicker topcoat and 1 coat of a quick-dry topcoat. Fireside Nights hasn't been restocked in the Chaos & Crocodiles shop lately, but creator Sarey brings back older polishes from time-to-time, so it's always possible that it will make a reappearance.

Chaos and Crocodiles Swatches

Hi everyone! Today I have a small helping of Chaos and Crocodiles swatch spam! Two are holos from the recent Secret Agent Collection and two of them were released at a prior restock. They are all gorgeous, so let's have a look!

Subterfuge (Secret Agent Collection) is a pale gold super linear holo. Formula was great and was perfectly opaque in 2 coats and the holo is very strong. Golds aren't always the best on my skintone, but this one was super flattering.

Decoy (Secret Agent Collection) is a silvery lavender linear holo. Once again, holo that just won't stop! Great formula and opacity at 2 coats. Love love!

Twilight Lagoon is a teal-leaning blue filled with gold flakes and shimmer and scattered holo. Formula was nice and perfectly opaque at 2 coats. I absolutely loved all of the subtle gorgeousness going on in this polish.

Cupcake Pirate is a dark magenta creme loaded with golden shimmer and also some pink and blue flecks throughout (these were hard to capture). Formula was good, almost a one coater but I used 2 coats for this mani. Such a gorgeous and saturated color!

Chaos and Crocodiles Candy and Unicorns and Orly Hot Tropics

Hi everyone! Today I have a glitter topper from Chaos and Crocodiles to show you that is girly to the extreme. Chaos and Crocodiles Candy and Unicorns for the Princess is a glitter topcoat packed with various purple, pink, and white matte glitters with added iridescent glitters and shimmers in a clear base. There are so many shapes and sizes in here that you can't name them all. I applied 2 dabbed coats over Orly Hot Tropics. I especially loved the addition of the iridscent shimmer and glitter. It definitely isn't an everyday polish for me, but it is great for an occasion when you want something extra girly.

Orly Hot Tropics is truly something special all on its on. It is a purple leaning neon-ish pink with chunky shimmer. It is darker and more purple in real life (neons never photograph correctly). This is 2 easy coats. Such a gorgeous polish. Hot Tropics is from Orly's new Baked Collection, so it is on shelves now wherever they sell Orly (I got mine from Sally Beauty).

Chaos and Crocodiles Rainbows All Around

Hi everyone and Happy New Year! I utterly destroyed my NYE mani before I could get proper pictures, so I thought I would share something bright and cheery with you today instead. I recently picked up a few Chaos and Crocodiles polishes during a pre-order and Rainbows All Around just had to be mine. It is a fun mix of multicolored holographic glitters in a clear base. I used 1 coat over Illamasqua Noble for this mani. I love how smooth and workable the glitter formula is and it actually didn't require a lot of topcoat to smooth out, which is always a plus with blingy glitters.

Here is Illamasqua Noble on its own. It is still one of my favorite cremes ever.

And here is a peek at the one terrible iPhone picture I got of my NYE mani. I used L.A.Girl Black Illusion as a base and then used Darling Diva Polish Diamond to stamp on the fireworks from the Bundle Monster H14 plate. The accents are Lynnderella Shapeshifter. I then proceeded to destroy one of the glittery nails before I ever got proper pictures so...bummer.

Falling for Nail Art: Halloween, Featuring Chaos and Crocodiles and Pahlish

Hi everyone! I have been so sad this week because I was going to do so many Halloween things on my nails, but I've been so sick (AND I've had to work every day) so it has been a task to even get my nails painted! I did manage to pull this out at the last minute, just in time for Halloween today (and my 13 hour shift...blahhhh). I HAD to use Chaos and Crocodiles Pumpkin Patch Extravaganza for the big day because it is just crazy Halloween goodness in a bottle. This polish has ever sort of glitter imaginable going on in orange, purple, green, black, white and even gold in all shapes and sizes (there were even some skull glitters in there...but I left those in the bottle because I do not get along with those!). I layered 2 coats over Pahlish Kalanchoe Luciae. On my accent nail, I did a little Frankenstein for my "Falling for Nail Art" Halloween challenge. He turned out pretty cute, I think! As you can imagine, there was a little placing going on with the glitter and loads of topcoat was necessary to smooth it out since there were a lot of larger glitter pieces, but I think it is such a fun special occasion polish so the extra effort was worth it!

Here is Pahlish Kalanchoe Luciae on its own. This was recently released as part of Pahlish's Fall 2013 Collection. I thought about doing a separate post for it because it is so amazing! It is a grassy green holo with a bit of golden shimmer and tiny red flakes throughout. The red flakes are amazing! Creator Shannon was inspired by succulents when she created this polish. The holographic effect is very nice as well and I adore the shade of green. I did three coats here, but it would have been fine at two if I had been more careful.

Here it is in the shade so you can see the flakes better. They are more apparent in real life.

Chaos & Crocodiles Pumpkin Patch Extravaganza was a limited edition polish released for Halloween 2013 and is currently sold out. Chaos & Crocodiles Ferris Wheel at Dusk

Hi everyone! Today I have a stunning polish for you from Chaos & Crocodiles. I just so happened to catch their last restock and grabbed my first C&C polishes. Ferris Wheel at Dusk is part of The Carnival Collection and it is the embodiment of galaxy nails in a bottle. It has a blue jelly base with blue, purple, fuchsia, and teal holographic glitter in the base including stars and large dots. The glitter payoff is great with no fishing required for the larger glitters. I layered 2 coats over piCture pOlish Cosmos for this mani. It would build up on its own, but I wanted to wear it over a base.
