Hare Polish Perfect Storm and L.A. Girl Brilliant Blue

Hi everyone! Today I've decided to do a glitter mani! I've been neglecting my glitters a lot lately, so I'm going to try to mix it up more this month. I recently ordered Hare Polish Perfect Storm because...LOOK AT IT! It is just a magical mix of glitter and shimmer! This is part of Nikole's Jackalope series, meaning it does not belong to any particular Hare Polish collection. It has a mixture of fuchsia dots, neon pink squares, and gold dots and hexes in an inky blue jelly base. There is also a ton of gold, purple, and fuchsia shimmer in the base. You guys know I love to layer my Hares, so this is 2 coats over L.A. Girl Brilliant Blue. The formula was well behaved with excellent glitter payoff (which is why I like to layer my Hares, I feel like using 3 coats is maybe too much glitter for me.). I am in LOVE with this polish! It has rocked way up my Hare Polish favorites list!

Here is L.A. Girl Brilliant Blue on its on. It is just gorgeous and certainly worthy of standing on its own without the addition of glitter. The jelly formula is very easy to work with and it is perfectly opaque at two coats. This L.A. Girl collection is probably my favorite drug store collection ever (or maybe tied with the Sally Hansen Nail Prisms.) Zoya Dream is a pretty much dead on dupe of this polish (this one may be a smidge darker, but not much) , but I have both and have no shame because it is one of my favorite polishes!

Chaos and Crocodiles Rainbows All Around

Hi everyone and Happy New Year! I utterly destroyed my NYE mani before I could get proper pictures, so I thought I would share something bright and cheery with you today instead. I recently picked up a few Chaos and Crocodiles polishes during a pre-order and Rainbows All Around just had to be mine. It is a fun mix of multicolored holographic glitters in a clear base. I used 1 coat over Illamasqua Noble for this mani. I love how smooth and workable the glitter formula is and it actually didn't require a lot of topcoat to smooth out, which is always a plus with blingy glitters.

Here is Illamasqua Noble on its own. It is still one of my favorite cremes ever.

And here is a peek at the one terrible iPhone picture I got of my NYE mani. I used L.A.Girl Black Illusion as a base and then used Darling Diva Polish Diamond to stamp on the fireworks from the Bundle Monster H14 plate. The accents are Lynnderella Shapeshifter. I then proceeded to destroy one of the glittery nails before I ever got proper pictures so...bummer.

Two Scattered Holos: Ozotic 624 and L.A. Girl Dazzling Pink

So I guess you guys have figured out by now that I'm totally obsessed with large particle scattered holos. I want them ALL! Today I have two to share with you, one that I've had for ages and one that I acquired quite recently.

Ozotic 624 is a large particle purple scattered holo. It is a bit less vibrant of a purple than Zoya Aurora (I prefer Aurora I think). This is 2 coats. It isn't an "in your face" holo effect, but it is beautiful and glowy. Ozotic polishes are available from piCture pOlish as well as from Llarowe.

L.A. Girl Dazzling Pink. This is a juicy pink jelly with large particle scattered holo. This is a bit more red toned than piCture pOlish Shocked! (which is a true bright pink) and the holo particles are more dense. I enjoyed this polish SO much when I was wearing it. I get my L.A. Girl polishes from Rite Aid and online at Cherry Culture. They have quickly become my favorite drugstore brand bar none.

Fun with L.A. Girl Sand Blast Polishes

Hi everyone! Something crazy has happened...I have found textured polishes that I LOVE without topcoat. I have avoided the textured "creme" polishes since they were released because I was sure I would hate them. Even said some not-so-nice things about them. I recently stumbled upon some released from LA. Girl, the Sand Blast collection, and I decided to give them a try because I loved the colors (and hey...they were cheap!). I picked up a purple, blue, green, and a gold glitter that reminds me a vaguely of OPI Honey Ryder, but I like it much better. For today's mani I decide to play with the blue and green.

Sandy Beach is a saturated, Royal blue polish "creme" polish with texture. There are no sparkles in it at all. Green Sand is a light green texture polish that does contain a few sparkles, but they aren't super obvious and sparkly upon drying like some I have encountered (such as OPI Jinx, Julie G Sugar Rush and Julie G Hot Cinnamon). It is a gorgeous shade of green and because it does have sparkles, I will eventually topcoat it I'm sure. These are both shown at 2 coats. The formula was pretty nice on them, with the green having a slightly thicker formula, but neither gave me any problems. I decided to stamp these with Konad White and a design from the Cheeky XL Musical Nails plate. I love the look of the textured polishes stamped!

 

 

 

 

L.A. Girl polishes are available from Rite Aid and online from Cherry Culture. I haven't seen these out at my local Rite Aid yet, so I picked them up from Cherry Culture. What do you guys think about the textured "creme" polishes? I have heard a lot of people aren't too into them, but I would have never in a million years thought I would like them. It might not hurt to at least give them a try either way! With the L.A. Girl, Milani, and Sally Hansen ones around there are some good inexpensive alternatives to try just for fun.
