Oopsie Daisies Spring 2014 Petals Collection

Hi everyone! Today I have swatches of Oopsie Daisies Spring 2014 Petals Collection. This collection consists of 4 sweet springy shimmers and one glitter topper. The shimmers are very refined and beautifully done and the glitter topper pairs well with all of the colors and is a fun way to add some more interest to your mani.

Sweet Pea is a creamy pink with pink flakes and shimmer. The glass fleck shimmer in this one is absolutely divine and the formula is as well. This is two easy coats. I adore this shade of pink!

Wisteria is a light, greyed-out purple with purple and iridescent shimmers/flakes. This color is so soft and sophisticated. I think you could almost get away with this polish as a funky neutral color. This is 3 thin coats.

Clover is a warm mint creme with tons of fine golden shimmer. Of course I adore the color, because I have a weakness for greens, but the shimmer makes it extra special. This is 2 easy coats of Clover.

Marigold is described as a golden peach and it has gorgeous gold and pinky-red fine shimmer. I was dubious about how this color would look on me, but it actually ended up being quite flattering. In fact, I ended up wearing it by itself to enjoy it after I was done swatching. This is 3 thin coats of Marigold.

Calla Lily is a glitter topper with matte white, yellow, green, pastel glitters. This color combo looks great over all of the polishes in this collection, but I've chosen to show it over Sweet Pea and Clover here. The glitter density is great and the glitters spread out well. This is 2 coats of Calla Lily over each base color. As you can see, layering it over the pink really makes the glitters pop, while layering it over the green creates a more subtle look.

Stamping with OPI I Sao Paulo Over There featuring Oopsie Daisies Bluebird

Hi everyone! Today I have a springy mani for you featuring two lovely polishes: OPI I Sao Paulo Over There and Oopsie Daisies Bluebird. I thought the color combo of taupe and light blue was very chic and I loved the final look of this mani.

OPI I Sao Paulo Over There (which shall be henceforth referred to as ISPOT) is a dark taupe creme that leans to the cooler side. Believe it or not, it does not have any dupes in my collection. I only have one other taupe creme (American Apparel Mouse) and it is much lighter and more grey-leaning. The formula was terrific with full, smooth coverage at 2 coats. I thought the shade was nice and was very flattering on me. This is part of the recent Brazil Collection, so should be easy to find anywhere OPI is sold (I purchased mine from Sally Beauty).

I did accents of Oopsie Daisies Bluebird (I did a full review of it here last year when it was released). Unfortunately, it is now discontinued due to the discontinuation of one of the pigments used in it. Such a pretty polish though! I stamped over Bluebird with ISPOT using Bundle Monster plate BM407. It stamped pretty well over the lighter color. I think this would make a really pretty fabric to use for crafting/decoration.

Oopsie Daisies Valentine's Day Duo and Sweater Weather

Hi everyone! Today I have three recent Oopsie Daisies releases to share with you. Love Notes and Secret Admirer are new releases for Valentine's 2014 and Sweater Weather was a recent winter release.

Up first we are going to look at the two Valentine's polishes that are part of the Date Night Duo.

Love Notes (over OPI Sparrow Me the Drama). Love Notes is a matte glitter polish that has soft pink, yellow, and white glitter with satin pink and white hearts in a clear base. The glitter spread easily and I used 2 coats over my base for this mani. I did dab a bit with the second coat to "fill in" where needed, as I do with a lot of larger glitters. This is a soft and pretty glitter mix which is perfect for Valentine's Day and can very easily transition into spring. I really liked it over the pink base, but it look equally lovely over Secret Admirer (see here by Things I Love At the Moment) which we are going to be looking at next.

Secret Admirer is an orchid crelly with silver, red, and gold shimmer. This polish is a perfect Pantone "Color of the Year" polish. The shimmer is super pretty and delicate. Formula was fab on this one and only requires 2 coats for full coverage, but I did 3 for my mani.

Finally we will look at Sweater Weather from the winter releases. This polish surprised me because I'm not usually a grey fan, but this turned into such a nice funky neutral for me. It's also one that you have to see in person to really appreciate all that is going on here. It is a soft grey jelly base with micro bar glitters, silver glitters, and rainbow color shifting glitters in it. There are also some delicate colored shimmers going on. It's a very complex and very flattering polish. I used 3 thin coats for this mani. I would recommend using a thicker topcoat with it to smooth it out and truly get the full impact of all of the loveliness that is going on here.

Minty Green Spam

Hi everyone! Today I have several minty green themed manis that I have done over the past month or so that I haven't posted. Enjoy!

Elevation Polish Passion Flower over Pahlish Minty Fresh. I thought that Minty Fresh made the perfect base for the lovely pastel purples, yellows, whites, and greens of Passion Flower. The Pahlish was LE and is now D/C, but the Elevation Polish is still in the current line-up, although it is sold out in Lulu's shop at the moment.

Oopsie Daisies Mojito Mist over Illamasqua Milf. I love the shards of green glitter to mimic mint leaves in this polish. Genius! Mojito Mist was part of the summer Tiki Bar collection and is still in the current line-up in Cathryn's shop (which is on vacation at the moment). 

Illamasqua Milf. Yellow-leaning mint green creme with a fantastic formula. I adore Illamasqua cremes.

Lynnderella Attitude Adjust-mint over American Apparel Office. This was the first Lynnderella I ever wore. I got it back when she was still selling from home and I thought I hated all chunky glitter and this one was the only one I could tolerate (although I did purchase Connect the Dots, Ruby Red Ruby, Mercury's Rainbow, and Thank Blue for good measure at the time). The shimmer and color shifting glitter are delicious! My how my tastes have changed... Lynnderella polishes are available in her eBay store. 

American Apparel Office. The perfect true mint green creme in my opinion. The formula is opaque and wonderful.

Oopsies Daisies Back to Nature Trio

Hi everyone! Today I have a late summer trio from Oopsie Daisies that is themed around camping! I always love creator Cathryn's inspiration behind her collections. She always manages to bring her very literal ideas to life in polish and I dig it. The Back to Nature Trio has two brand new polishes and one that is a reformulated (and renamed) version of a current polish.

Campfire Tales is a juicy red-orange jelly with red, yellow, and orange glitters. The color of the jelly base is really gorgeous and is very campfire-esque. I used 2 coats for this mani. Glitters dispersed very evenly during application and gave me no trouble at all. This one is a winner for sure!

Cloudless Night was a surprise favorite for me in the collection (because I thought for SURE it would be the red since I'm such a red hoor). The silver shimmer in the base is what makes this polish so special and also the surprise small white glitters. When I first saw it, I just thought it was silver glitter in a black jelly base, but those additions make it super special. I used 3 coats for this swatch. Definitely let it dry between coats to eliminate dragging to help you build it up to opacity. I think you have to see this one in real life to really appreciate how gorgeous it is.



  

S'mores is a reformulated version of Fawn from the spring collection. I remember when that collection came out, Cathryn mentioned that after she made it, this polish always reminded her of s'mores, so she made it happen! The addition of white "marshmallow" squares really make it a perfect s'mores polish. This is 2 coats plus topcoat. This polish is really packed with glitter, so I did have to be sure to spread them around evenly when applying to get an even look, but I have to do this with a lot of glitter polishes so it was nothing out of the ordinary (I think it is related to my tendency towards heavy handed coats vs thin, dainty coats when polishing).

4th of July Mani Featuring Oopsie Daisies 1776

Better late than never I guess? I have had issues with Photobucket this week so I've been a little behind on posting. But anyway, here is the mani I wore for the 4th.

Base and dot colors are Cult Nails Evil Queen (red), Sinful Gel Shine Wisp (white), and China Glaze First Mate. For the glitter accent nails I used Oopsie Daisies 1776, a lovely red, white, and blue glitter polish in a clear base. I used Nailz Craze plate 02 for the star designs and Bundle Monster plate 20 for the Stripes.

Oopsie Daisies Electric Lemonade

Hi everyone! So my summer obsession with neons continues today with a lovely glitter topper from Oopsie Daisies new Tiki Bar Collection called Electric Lemonade. This collection is so fun and is based on fruity summer drinks. I knew Electric Lemonade had to be mine as soon as I saw it. It may now be tied for my favorite Oopsie Daisies polish with Apple Picking. The mixture of blue, pink, yellow, and green neon glitters is just gorgeous. Here I layered 2 coats of Electric Lemonade over Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream.
