Hi everyone! Today I have a selection of new Girly Bits Cosmetics polishes for you! They were available for pre-order this past week, but the official release date is Thursday, June 19 at 12 noon EDT.
The first two polishes I have to show you are part of the 80's Girl Bands Collection, which were inspired by some of the greatest female singers of the 80's.
Man Size Love has a purple holographic base with blue shimmer and glitter (which Pam has dubbed "shimmolo") which gives it an overall deep periwinkle look. When its in the bottle, it looks really purple, but on the nail it leans more blue. This is such a fabulous combo of finishes and it looks stunning on the nail. This was 2 easy coats of Man Size Love.
Conga is an aqua crelly base with aqua, teal, lavender, and neon pink glitters. This color combo is so soothing and perfect! The formula flowed pretty smoothly with good glitter density. I felt like the base was just translucent enough to show off the glitters but not too opaque whereas to obscure them. I would suggest using a thicker topcoat + quick dry topcoat to smooth this one out since it does have chunkier glitter. This was 3 thin coats of Conga.
The next two polishes are some individual releases that are being released at the same time as 80's Girl Bands Collection.
Darkly Dreaming has a deep forest green jelly base filled with chunky copper shimmer. The formula on this was completely perfect. I used 3 thin coats for this mani. It manages to be a very dark green without looking black, which is hard to accomplish. This polish was created as a collaboration with The PolishAholic for her 4th blog anniversary.
Save Your Scissors has a creamy lavender base with aqua, neon pink, plum, lavender, teal, aqua and white glitters with a few scattered holo sparks throughout. I found that the base on this one was a tad too opaque and did obscure the glitters a bit for me. I loved the color of this one so much because it is so fresh and feminine. Like Conga, I would suggest using a thicker topcoat + quick dry topcoat to smooth this one out since it does have chunkier glitter. (as you can see, my topcoat was being naughty and bubbled a bit). This was 3 thin coats of Save Your Scissors. This polish was created as a tribute to City and Colour as part of the Girly Bits Concert Series Collection.
