KBShimmer Bath and Body Products: Mani Shots, Sugar Scrub, and Body Lotion

*Press Samples*
Hi everyone! Today I wanted to do a review of some of KBShimmer's Bath and Body Products. I know that they are known in the nail community for their polish, but they have some pretty awesome bath and body products that you should check out as well! KBShimmer actually started as a bath and body company and eventually added nail polish to their line-up, so they really know their stuff. I have previously reviewed their cuticle oil pens, which are super nifty and moisturizing, but they also offer soaps, lotions, scrubs and their most recent addition, Mani Shots. I will be reviewing their Mani Shots, body lotion, and sugar scrub today.

Mani Shots

KBShimmer's Mani Shots are mini bath bombs that are perfect for soaking your hands or feet before your mani/pedi. I had actually purchased several of these already and then I received some additional samples, so I've included them all in this post. They contain nourishing oils and butters that leave your hands feeling soft and moisturized after a soak. I don't find that they are overly oily, so when you finish your soak, you aren't left with a greasy film on your hands.
Contains: Baking Soda, Citric Acid, Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil, Olive Oil, Fragrance

They are packaged in little plastic containers and you can usually pop them right out by pressing your thumbs on the bottom of the package, but I've had a few that have been in there pretty tight and I've peeled the plastic off (which is no big deal). To use them, you dissolve them in a bowl of warm water and then soak your hands or feet in the water for about 10 minutes. They have a nice frothy bubble that lasts for about 1.5-2 minutes, but Christy mentions on the website that you can toss the whole container in (minus the top) and the bubble will last longer. This is a personal preference, but I really appreciate that these don't have extra stuff added to them like shimmer and glitter because that stuff, while pretty, just ends sticking to your hands and then you have to wash them to get it off afterward, which sort of defeats the purpose.

Mani Shots come in a variety of scents to please everyone. I tend towards the fruity scents, but I have a good selection of them to share with you today since they have such a well-rounded scent catalog, so I bet you will be able to find something to suit you. I've included KBShimmer's scent descriptions with each bomb as well as my impressions of them.

Pink Sugar

This is one of KBShimmer's most popular scents and it's definitely a crowd pleaser. Despite the description sounding really candy-like, I think this scent has a few musky and powdery notes to it that keep it from being overly sweet.
We have scented this bomb in the sweet Pink Sugar type fragrance, a customer favorite that smells like cotton candy, caramel, lemon, and a hint of raspberry.

Southern Belle

This one is definitely mildly spicy and floral, very romantic like a women's perfume. I think it embodies its inspiration well!
Southern Belle, think sweet peaches ripe from the vine, hives dripping with golden honey, white picket fences and green grass, ahh, summer in the south. A fresh blends of ginger, peach, mango, clove, citrus, the body of  this sweet fragrance combines orange blossom, rose, and jasmine. Rounding out  the blend is a slight hint of musk and woods, the perfect blend for any women  wanting to feel sweet and lovely.

Lemon Verbena

This has a really classic lemon verbena scent that packs a punch. It's very lemony, but the slightly herbaceous verbena balances it out nicely.
Our lemon verbena scent starts loads of lemon, a touch of  lime and peach, is rounded out with a base of rose, geranium, and green lemon leaves.   This herbal citrus scent is a new favorite here at KBShimmer!  Compare to the L’Occitane de Provence version.

 Citrus Blast

This citrus scent is lovely and well rounded. It's not as punchy as the Lemon Verbena scent, but I think that both of them would be great for citrus lovers. I actually think I prefer the slightly milder citrus zing of Citrus Blast now that I've smelled them both.
Citrus Blast is a fun an orange scent with hints of mango, papaya and lime.

Paradise

This smells fresh and fruity, but not in an overly sweet way. I think the splash of magnolia in there gives it a fruity drink vibe, like you are sipping a margarita on the beach.
Fresh squeezed limes, sweet pineapple, zesty  orange and lemon combine with soft scent of gardenias to form this bubbly scent.   I can almost imagine a frosty drink in my hand while lounging on the beach  enjoying the ocean view.  Ahhh, Paradise!

Lilac

This has a lovely soft lilac scent. It's like you are sniffing fresh flowers. I'm not always a floral fan, but this scent is nice and relaxing.
Nothing reminds me of spring more then the scent of lilacs. I love lilacs more then any flower, and this scent captures them beautifully.

Oatmeal Milk and Honey

The honey scent of this one really comes through and it smells really mild and sweet with some vanilla notes. Something about the honey scent even reminds me ever so slightly of baby powder? Maybe I'm crazy...
The soft scent of honey, the warmness of oatmeal and milk.  This mani shot is the ideal “comfort” scent.  Please note, our Oatmeal, Milk and Honey soap is fragrance free, but the lotion, mani shot and scrub do contain fragrance oil.

Blackberry Lemonade (LE) - this was a limited edition scent from earlier in the summer and it definitely smells fruity and sweet. The blackberry notes come through nicely! It's not available anymore, but I wanted to post it just to let you know that outside of their core line of Mani Shot scents, KBShimmer always seems to have some limited edition scents available, so check in periodically to see what they have! Last time I checked, they had quite a few in stock including Angel Food Cake, Beach Bum, Cherry Vanilla, Chocolate Lava Cake, Cucumber Melon, Maple Bacon Bar, Monkey Farts, Pistachio Macaroon, and Viva la Juicy.

Body Lotion

I have the Lemon Verbena body lotion and it smells very fresh and citrusy and it's a really classic scent. It's strong when you first apply it, but it mellows out to a very pleasant lemony scent that lasts on your skin. The lotion has a nice thick consistency and absorbs well into the skin leaving it soft and smooth without a greasy residue. It's a great lotion for every day us, so if you are looking for a light and moisturizing lotion, especially with dry, cold air of fall/winter coming in soon, be sure to check these out! *Please note that my bottle was full when I got it, but I forgot to take pictures and I've used a bit since then.*
Contains: Aqua, Olea Europaea (Olive) Oil, Emulsifying Wax NF. Stearic Acid, Mel (Honey), Beeswax, Fragrance Oil, Phenoxyethanol (and) Caprylyl Glycol, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Tin Dioxide, Iron Oxide

Sugar Scrub

I have their sugar scrub in the Paradise scent that I described above and I just adore it (I think it might be my favorite KBShimmer scent that I've tried). I keep my jar of sugar scrub next to my sink and I use it often, but after swatch sessions especially. It has a medium course texture so you get a good scrubbing effect. The consistency is not too dry and not too wet, but just perfect. It really revives my hands and leaves them soft and silky, with the added benefit of scrubbing off stubborn glittery/flakie/shimmery bits that might get left behind after a marathon of swatching. It's not overly oily, so you aren't left with a film of residue on your hands afterward and that is very nice because you can go right into a fresh mani after using it. I'm really glad that I remembered to take photo of this one as soon as it arrived because it's about half gone now. ;)
