Hi everyone! Today I have part one of KBShimmer's Summer Collection to share with you! This part of the collection consists of 7 bleached neon cremes and 2 glitter toppers. I already did a nail art look with this collection that was super fun, but here I'm showing you all of them, and what a fun rainbow they make! Let's get right on to swatches.
Formula on the cremes in this collection was pretty similar across the board. I found that these (being a combo of neon and pastel) were a touch streaky on the first coat and most were fine with 2 coats but I did 3 coats for good measure on all but one of them (Sarong Place, Sarong Time was the creamiest and the formula was perfect at 2 coats). Despite their bleached nature, these were still super bright and gorgeous. For all of these, I used 1 coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top to give them a shiny finish.
Lei it Again an electric pink creme. This is a cool-toned pink that just screams Barbie. It was one of my immediate favorites as soon as I laid eyes on it. I actually participated in a Relay for Life event at the end of April, and this polish perfectly matched our team shirts, so one of my friends had matchy nails with Lei it Again (and we had a Hawaiian theme...so even better!). I used 3 thin coats here.
Bahama Drama is a near neon deep peach creme. Oh man, this color is just to die for! The bright but slightly faded look of this one just slays me. Another favorite! This is 3 thin coats.
Leggo My Mango is a creamsicle orange creme. This is a lovely orange that definitely looks like a creamsicle. This is 3 thin coats.
Rum Me the Right Way is a bright yellow creme. Wow, this one is still extremely bright despite being classified as "bleached". I thought the formula was good for a yellow, especially a neon yellow. This is 3 thin coats.
For Sail By Owner is a bright lime green creme. Another gorgeous bright color! I'm a sucker for greens like this, and this one did not disappoint. It's also a super bright one, though it is probably a little more muted in real life (the camera really brought out its neon qualities). I used 3 thin coats here.
In Yacht Water is a bright aqua blue creme. As the girl who can never have enough blue cremes, this one was a hit for me. This is definitely one that you could use as a base for things throughout the year, not just for the summer. I used 3 thin coats here.
Sarong Place, Sarong Time is a bright warm purple creme. This was one isn't one that I thought I would be over the moon about when I first saw it, but OMG! It's so amazing! I immediately put it on my toes. It's so warm and bright and it for sure has the most amazing formula of the bunch.
Dust in the Bottle is a silver holographic microglitter topcoat. This is a super versatile glitter topper that can be used to jazz up any mani. It is made of of glitter, not holo pigment and it's meant to be layered (I wouldn't try to build it up on its own...but don't fear, there is ANOTHER silver holo glitter in the summer collection for those purposes that I will show you soon!). I really love that it lets the color underneath to shine through without muting it. Below I've shown it at 1 coat and 2 coats over different bases.
1 coat over Lei it Again
2 coats over Bahama Drama
Precious Petals is a glitter topcoat filled with matte glitters in neon pink, purple, white, and aqua glitters as well as fine silver holographic glitters. This is the other glitter topper from this portion of the collection and it coordinates so well over several of these bright cremes. Formula was great and the glitters spread really easily with a great glitter density. I chose to do one coat over Sarong Place, Sarong Time for this mani. I'm definitely getting a floral vibe from this pretty color combo, so the name is perfect!
KBShimmer products are available from their website as well as from Harlow & Co. (Canada) for international customers. Be sure to follow them on Facebook and Instagram for updates on new collections and to see swatches of all of their polishes. Their (three!)
