Hi everyone! Today I have part 2 of KBShimmer's Summer 2015 Collection to share with you! These are referred to as "The Glitters" and there are a total of 9 polishes in this part of the collection. There are two full-coverage holo microglitters, 4 jelly/crelly glitters (that KBShimmer is famous for), a shimmer and a holo (which aren't technically glitters, but they sparkle all the same). These are releasing this Friday, May 15 along with parts 1 and 3 of the Summer 2015 collection (yes, I still have 10 more to share with you, so stay tuned!)
Pink-a Colada is violet-leaning pink crelly with lime green, blue, and pink glitters. Formula was really nice on this one with perfect glitter distribution. It started out sort of sheer but built up nicely in 3 coats. I love this beautiful squishy pink!
Shell Shock is a peachy-tan crelly with holographic gold, magenta, and copper glitters. Formula was nice in typical KBShimmer fashion and built up nicely to opacity in 3 thin coats. I think that this color combo is really interesting and pretty and I wanted to love it, but I didn't think it suited my skintone too well. I really think it would look nice on others who have a more neutral/warm skintone though (I have a LOT of pink undertones).
Sun & Games is a full-coverage gold holographic microglitter polish. The formula on this was really impressive. I expected to have to use at least 3 coats for full coverage, but it was perfect at 2 coats. It is a little topcoat hungry, so I recommend using 2 coats of a thicker topcoat, like KBShimmer Clearly On Top, which I used here). It's so blingy and wonderful! Definitely one of my favorites!
Alloy Matey! is a full-coverage silver holographic microglitter polish. This is the silver sister of Sun & Games and it has the same wonderful formula that is perfectly opaque in 2 coats. I love that both of these spread easily and are easy to control so that you aren't going to have to worry about microglitter clean-up. I think this one is even more blinding than Sun & Games!
Wave the Flag is a glitter topper filled with red, white, and blue matter glitters including white stars. Formula on this one was nice with a great spread and glitter load. I used 1 coat over KBShimmer In Yacht Water). The stars came out with no fishing and spread easily during application. I really like that they are smaller stars too, so that they are easy to topcoat and get smooth (I used 2 coats of KBShimmer Clearly On Top to get this mani smooth). Such a fun patriotic topper that will be perfect for Memorial Day and 4th of July!
Home Surf is a muted teal crelly filled with multiple sizes of silver holographic glitters. Formula was nice and very easy to work with on this one. It could be opaque in 2 careful coats, but I used 3 thin coats here. I really love the slight murkiness of the base of this one, it's beautiful with the holo peeking through.
Vitamin Sea is a deep teal-y aqua jelly filled with pink, silver, and micro holographic glitters. Formula was very nice and opaque with this one, and it could have been opaque in 2 coats, but I did 3 for good measure. I really adore the color combo of the sweet pink and teal! It's sort of unexpected, but it works so well. This is another favorite for me!
What are You Wading For? is a deep periwinkle holo with indigo blue shimmer. Formula was smooth and easy to work with with full opacity in 3 thin coats. The blue shimmer is a bit camera shy, but adds lovely dimension to this polish in person. The holo flame is gorgeous too!
We Be Jammin' is a bright magenta jelly with blue/violet color shifting shimmer and scattered holo microglitter. Formula was great on this one with complete coverage in 3 thin coats. The combination of the bright magenta with the blue shimmer makes this polish look like a gorgeous sparkling purple in some lights. I was so excited to see this addition to the collection because it has fabulous contrasting shimmer like one of my favorite KBShimmers ever, Teal Another Tail.
KBShimmer products are available from their website as well as from Harlow & Co. (Canada) for international customers. Be sure to follow them on Facebook and Instagram for updates on new collections and to see swatches of all of their polishes. Again, their Summer 2015 Collection is going to be released on Friday, May 15th, so be sure to mark your calenders! The last part of the collection will be on here soon! Thanks for looking everyone!
