Pretty & Polished Spring Release Swatches (Partial)

*Press Samples*

Hi everyone! Pretty & Polished is having two releases tomorrow and I have a few from each one to share with you! The first release is their Spring 2015 Collection which will have seven brand new springy shades and I'll be showing you two of these today. The second release is called Humble Beginnings and it is a re-release of six of Pretty & Polished's beloved discontinued shades and I also have three of those to share with you today. Both of these collections will be launching tomorrow on Pretty & Polished's website.

These first two polishes are from the new Spring 2015 Collection so they are brand new additions to the Pretty & Polished line. They both have squishy crelly formulas with matte glitters.

Pretty & Lilacquered is a purpley-pink (cool) to pale whitish pink (warm) thermal polish with tiny light pink and coral matte microglitters. Formula on this polish was really nice and it built up to opacity in 3 thin coats. I must say, I was mostly a failure at capturing the "cold" shift of this polish because A) my nails are shorter than usual at the moment so my free edge is minimal and B) my house was extremely warm when I was photographing these so every time I would take them out of the ice water they would return to their "warm" state before I could wipe the water off and snap a picture. The first picture is the best picture I got of it in the "transitioning" state. I was completely surprised by how smitten I was with this this polish in its "warm" state. It is the perfect "neutral with a twist" on me and it looked so clean and squishy on my fresh nubs.

Insert Eggceptionally Bad Pun Here is a bright yellow crelly with turquoise and orange matte glitters. Formula of this polish was superb! It spread easily with no pooling and built up nicely to opacity in 3 thin coats. I wasn't sure if I was going to love this one because yellows can go either way on me, but the brightness made it so sunny and fun to wear, so I ended up wearing it an entire day after I was done swatching. If you love yellows, then you need this one. If you don't love yellows...it might surprise you!

These next three are from the Humble Beginnings release, so you might recognize them if you have been a long-time Pretty & Polished fan. These all have new and improved formulas while remaining as close to the originals as possible. In addition to these three polishes, Punk'd Up Betty, Elvis' Pink Cadillac, and Bayou Blitz are also making a return.

Galax-E is a black jelly polish filled with scattered holo pigment and silver holo microglitters. Formula was a little sheer on the first coat, but it built up to a nice opacity with 3 thin coats. It seems like some of the large holo pieces like to hang out at the bottom of the bottle, so I recommend a good shake before applying it, and you can see there are a ton of the larger holo sparkles on my nails. The holo effect of this one is subtle and velvety look, and it makes the perfect base for those sparkly silver glitters...it really lives up to its name!

Swing is a juicy red jelly filled with black and white glitters and a few scattered large white glitters. Formula on this one was really nice with a good glitter density and spread. It's a thinner jelly, so be sure to not load up your brush too much when applying your first coat or it might pool. I used 3 thin coats for this mani and got great coverage. This is so pretty and squishy and it makes your nails look like a ladybug!

Sand Art is a clear-based glitter topper filled with matte microglitters in purple, lime, turquoise, and coral. It can be worn on its own if desired, but I really love the way it looks layered over a base. It is really dense, so you only need one coat over a base color for great coverage. The formula is slightly thick, but it's really easy to work with and you can get even coverage easily without having to dab and such. I used 1 coat here over Orly Key Lime Twist. You will also want to use a thicker topcoat with this one to get a smooth finish because the matte microglitters have a slightly rough finish, so they tend to be topcoat thirsty. This is the only one of the Humble Beginnings polishes that I already owned, and it is SO awesome! I'm actually wearing this as a full mani today and it's so happy and bright so I get a little pick-me-up whenever I glance at my nails.
