Hi everyone! Today I have CrowsToes Valentine's 2015 Collection (aka ValenCrows) to share with you. Per usual, Lauri has created a set of polishes that celebrate her TRUE feelings about Valentine's Day. While some of the polish colors may seem romantic, the names are definitely not all hearts and flowers. Another thing I would like to note is that this collection has a little bit of everything! She has jelly, and a texture (both firsts for CrowsToes), as well as a shimmer, a glitter, and a metallic all in one collection. There is something for everyone to love here! Release date is not set yet, but keep a watch on the CrowsToes and Llarowe Facebook pages for details to come.
My Knight in Shining Armour Rusted is a soft bronzy-gold metallic polish with bronze flake shimmer, and perhaps a bit of red shimmer. This one looks sort of sheer on the first coat, but builds up easily to opacity with the second coat. I'm not really a metallic girl, but I really liked the addition of the little flecks in this one that gave it a lot of interest. I also did try stamping with it, and it looked cool stamped over black (really crisp stamp too, I did it for giggles on one nail, so I don't have a picture of it stamped).
The Terminal Engagement is a deep smoky navy jelly with copper flecks and shimmer. Jelly formula spread smoothly and easily and it built up nicely to opacity in 3 thin coats. This polish makes me think of a polish from back in my early days of polishing (circa 2010-2011) when I bought my first higher end/expensive polish and I was so excited about it, but when it came...the shimmer just fell flat. This one DEFINITELY does not fall flat. The shimmer is very present all the time and it is just gorgeous against the smoky base.
Up next is a duo that I know a of people are going to be super excited about! It is just stunning!
Hurt Me Once, and I'll Kill You Twice is a blood red jelly. This one is a true squishy jelly that flows perfectly and is just right at 3 coats. It does still show a little bit of visible nail line, but in a good way (the way true jellies do). This polish made me nostalgic because it made me think about my very first swap with Lauri (way before CrowsToes was around) and I sent her my bottle of OPI Vodka and Caviar. She really loves a classy red, and that's just what she made here!
Sweet as Sugar, Cold as Ice... is a clear-based glitter topper filled with iridescent glitters and tiny blue glitters. Formula spread smoothly and easily with great glitter distribution. I used 2 coats over Hurt Me Once and I'll Kill You Twice. All of you ladies that have been lusting after CrowsToes Too F*%#ing Cold since it was part of a limited edition duo, look no further! Lauri has brought it back with a new name and it is just as dang breathtaking this time around. Even if you already own Too F*%#ing Cold, I would recommend a back-up (I know I'm proud to have one!). You can layer this over all sorts of base colors, so it is a very versatile topper.
