Scofflaw Nail Varnish Koi Pondering and Flotsam and Jetsam

Hi everyone! Today I have two polishes from Scofflaw Nail Varnish. I held off ordering for awhile (I was trying to be good!), but the lemmings overtook me and I had to pick up a few. So far I am very impressed with the uniqueness and quality of these polishes.

First up is Koi Pondering. This polish has an amazing shimmering blue base (emphasis on amazing...the shimmer is to die for) with yellow, white, and orange matte glitters. It really looks like fish swimming in sparkling water. I used 3 thin coats for my mani. It probably would have been good at two coats if I had been more careful. The formula was great and the glitters spread evenly.

Next we have Flotsam and Jetsam. This polish has a mint crelly base with a mixture of purple and teal glitters (including shards) as well as some subtle green shimmer. This polish could easily be built up on its own, but I chose to layer 2 coats over Linda Johansen Sea Mint for this mani. Once again, excellent formula and glitter coverage.

CrowsToes Lil' Miss Sunshine and Lil' Miss Cyanide

Hi everyone! Today I have a duo from the CrowsToes springTHIS collection, Lil' Miss Sunshine and Lil' Miss Cyanide. Both are lovely purples, but the similarities end there.

First up is Lil' Miss Sunshine. This polish has a sheer purple base with color shifting microflakies. The flakies have an overall silver appearance, but the color shift almost makes it looks like there are multiple colors of flakies in the base at times. As I said, the base is thin, so I chose to layer it but it could be built up and worn on its own at 3 or 4 coats. The shift would appear stronger over a darker base, but I chose to layer 2 coats over a similar color, L'Oreal Lilac Coolers. The formula is nice and spreads very easily.

Lil' Miss Cyanide is the second part of this duo and it has a light purple base with a very strong lavender-green-gold shift. Now I mention this shift is strong...it truly is. I have to say that I had much difficulty in photographing this polish. The shift appears in pictures but it looks very slight. Let me assure you that in real life it is VERY apparent. The base of this polish is also thin and I chose to layer it over OPI Funky Dunkey. I will caution you to be careful with application of this polish as it can show brush strokes.

Also...to prove to you that I am telling the truth..some truly terrible iPhone pics that show the true look of the amazing green flash of this polish. This is how strong the duochrome really is!! Now why my iPhone will pick it up and my real camera will not...well that is still a great mystery...

piCture pOlish Shocked

Today I have a gorgeous polish from the piCture pOlish Collaboration Collection where they partner with bloggers and shop owners to create polishes. piCture pOlish Shocked was a collaboration with my pal Shatter Me Claire and it is a gorgeous hot pink jelly with piCture pOlish's signature holo sparkly bits (these are NOT glitter). This polish looks best at 3 coats, I think, because it is sheerer than some of the others I have tried that are similar (Cosmos and Kryptonite). Formula was excellent.

piCture pOlish shades are available direct from their website as well as from Llarowe, As far as I know, the Collaboration shades are available in limited quantities, so get them while you can! Thanks for looking everyone! 

NerdLacquer Event Horizon

Today I have another NerdLacquer that I snagged from the first restock. Event Horizon is a teal jelly with various blue, teal,,and silver glitters as well as holographic glitters. It has amazing depth and the holographic glitter makes it look amazing in real life. This is 2 coats over Zoya Frida. The Zoya was probably unnecessary, but I prefer to layer glitters.

OPI DS Glamour

So as an amendment to my older untrieds challenge, I am also going to wear some of my older "trieds". I feel like with all of the new things around, I often ignore some of the older amazing polishes in my stash. I have only worn OPI DS Glamour once and it was over a year and a half ago. That is tragic. For this mani, I decided to layer 1 coat over OPI Road House Blues instead of by itself. Well...I think the picture speak for themselves. There is a reason it is much lusted after.

Sadly...the liner holo OPI Designer Series polishes are long since discontinued, but I have heard that Glitter Gal Marine Blue is somewhat similar to DS Glamour if you are wanting a deep blue linear holo. Thanks for looking everyone!

CrowsToes Green Thumb of Doom

Green Thumb of Doom...that sounds like a good name for my gardening skills. That or black thumb. Either way...stuff just dies when I try to grow it. CrowsToes Green Thumb of Doom, another polish from the springTHIS Collection, is a green jelly with shimmering golden microflakes throughout. It is stunning! For my mani I layered 2 coats of Green Thumb of Doom over L'Oreal Creme de Mint.

Nail Pattern Boldness Tell Me How to Win Your Heart

Today I have a wonderful polish from Nail Pattern Boldness's Hello Collection called Tell Me How to Win Your Heart which is based, of course, on the lyrics of Lionel Richie's famous song. I adore fine glitters, and this one is superb. It is a mixture of red, pink, and purple microglitters in a clear base. I layered 1 coat over Essie No More Film and it really made the glitters pop.
