Chanel Taboo

So I splurged on my second Chanel as a birthday present to myself. As soon as I saw Taboo I knew that I had to seek it out because it looked special enough to warrant the price tag. For me, it definitely did not disappoint. My favorite part is the blue sparkle which is unexpected and makes it really special.

This is the first Chanel in ages that has really grabbed my attention, and if you are a purple shimmer lover like me, I highly recommend it! Thanks for looking!

Glitter Gradient with HARE Polish Dauphine of Decadence

Even before I got HARE Polish Dauphine of Decadence, I knew I wanted to pair it with Illamasqua Nomad. I think they make a stunning combo. I decided to do some glitter tips with Dauphine of Decadence over Nomad and I think it turned out fab. The shimmer in the base of Dauphine of Decadence is so dreamy and I totally failed to capture it in my pictures. I love the little minty glitters among the gold as well.

A Few Holo Manis: Layla, Color Club, and LA Girl

First up is Layla Red Taboo. This is one of the newer Layla holos and the color is just gorgeous (though it is a stretch to call it red). The holo flame is nice, but not quite as strong as the older Laylas. I think that the saturated color might have a lot to do with that. This is two coats over Jessica Retro Revival Aqua Base. My Laylas apply like butter over Aqua Base (just wait for the base to dry for about 8-10 minutes first). 

Next is Color Club Cosmic Fate from the 2013 Halo Hues release. This is an orangey/coppery holo that I absolutely adore. I normally wouldn't go for colors like this, but it is so flattering and gorgeous. Like the other Color Club holos, this one has an excellent formula and a special base is not required for easy application. For those of you who can't find these in brick and mortar stores, Llarowe is now carrying Color Clubs.

Finally I have one of the new LA Girl 3D Effect scattered holographic polishes. If you haven't picked one of these up, I urge you to seek them out. They are my favorite drugstore find in ages. If you love the Zoya holos from their Ornate Collection or the piCture pOlish scattered holos like Kryptonite and Cosmos, then these will be an excellent cheap thrill for you (although do be aware that the purple, black, and red are dupes for the Zoyas). I picked up Teal Dimension, but I will be going back for more. This is two flawless coats of Teal Dimension. I found these at Rite Aid, but they are available at Cherry Culture as well if you can't find them in your area.

CrowsToes Milquetoast

Hi everyone! I finally got my hands on some new CrowsToes polishes from the springTHIS collection and Milquetoast jumped out at me to try first. For this mani I layered 2 coats of Milquetoast over OPI Don't Touch My Tutu. I love this mixture of the copper glitters and holographic microglitters in a milky base. It looks very elegant and sophisticated for a glitter polish. Formula was great on this polish too. It flowed very smoothly and evenly with fantastic glitter payoff.

Pastel Dots

I decided to do a dotticure with (mostly) one of my favorite creme collections: OPI Pirates of the Caribbean.  I love all of these polishes and use them quite often. I started off with a base of Skull and Glossbones and did dots with Sparrow Me the Drama, Planks a Lot, Mermaid Tears, and Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream (the one imposter). I quite liked the final result.

Sunset Gradient

Hello everyone! This weekend I FINALLY did a gradient correctly. I have tried several times, but always had epic fails. I guess practice makes perfect. I was going to stamp over it, but in the end I loved it so much, I just decided to leave it as is. One of my dear friends recently gifted two lovely polishes to me, Quo Orange Pop and China Glaze Purr-fect Plum, and they were both featured in this gradient along with American Apparel Angeline and Essie No More Film.

I'm so proud I finally got one to work out! I'm going to enjoy doing gradients in the future. Thanks for lookinf everyone!

Pahlish April Showers Duo

Hi everyone! Pahlish has announced that there will be a series of monthly duos that will be available during the month that they are inspired by. The first duo in the series is for April and is aptly named April Showers.

Through Still and Storm. This is a slate blue creme with grey microflakies and blue shimmer. It has a very smooth formula and is perfectly opaque in 2 coats. As usual, Shannon has worked her shimmer magic in this polish because it is divine.

Ocean Gone Wrong. This is a glitter topcoat with a mixture of varying shades of blue and gunmetal glitters as well as a gorgeous violet shimmer. Also...dots...nuff said. I do love some dots! The glitter spreads very smoothly and evenly in without dabbing. This is one medium coat over Through Still and Storm. These polishes complement each other perfectly and the color palette is very calming. I can very easily see the spring shower inspiration in these polishes.
