Hi everyone! Long time, no see! Sorry for being a terrible blogger, but I've had a ton of craziness going on in my life including a surprise promotion with a ton of new responsibilities, so I've had a lot of adjusting to do. I had to take a little break to try to get back on track, and I'm almost there! I also got a new camera which I'm struggling with (I've already figured out a class is necessary to work this thing!) so if you notice a little inconsistency in today's post it's because I've got a few photos from the new camera thrown in there. Anyway, I'm glad to be back and I have a fantastic collection to start you off with!
Today I have the Great Lakes Lacquer Doctor's Orders Collection to share with you. This collection was inspired by quotes from two famous Doctors: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Dr. Suess. These are available NOW in the Great Lakes Lacquer shop.
From Dr. Suess and The Lorax. “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”
Infinite Hope is a dark sapphire blue with color shifting blue/pink shimmer and scattered silver holo. This one was just a little thick, but still very easy to work with. It has the most fabulous pink shimmer that gives it so much depth, but my camera only wanted to capture the blue side of the color shift. This is a STUNNER in person.
From Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. “We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.”
Those Who Matter is a deep wine/cranberry linear holo with purple shimmer. Formula was really nice and I used 3 thin coats. This is a stunning shade with a killer holo flame. I can never get enough winey shades like this one.
From Dr. Seuss. “Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.”
Youer Than You is a blue-leaning medium purple jelly with mint and purple shimmer as well as aqua/green flakies. Formula was easy to use and built up nicely to full coverage in 3 thin coats. This shade is INSANELY gorgeous and the flakes/shimmer are perfection. I'm a flakie hoor, so this polish had my heart as soon as I saw the bottle.
From Dr. Seuss and Happy Birthday to You. “Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than you.”
Only Love Can Do That is a silvery white holo with rainbow microflakes. Formula was slightly thick, but still easy to use and I used 3 thin coats for full coverage. This polish has a sort of silvery sheen that makes me think of snow. The rainbow flakes aren't in your face, but they add a nice snowy sort of sparkle to this polish.

Silence is a bluish grey jelly with color shifting shimmer in violet-red/blue and bronze microflakes. The last photo is sort of an odd angle, but I really felt like it showed off the pretty shimmah! This is one of my favorites from the collection for sure! Such a gorgeous combo of colors.

Don’t Give Up is a peachy/pinky nude with copper shimmer. The formula on this one was a bit thick and would not self level for me until I added some thinner, but Mariah adjusted the final formula so that it would apply easily. It's such a pretty shade though, and a nice pinky nude, which always work so great for my skintone. It also has some warm brown undertones...and just look at that shimmer!
From Dr. Seuss and Horton Hears a Who. “Don’t give up! I believe in you all. A person’s a person, no matter how small!”
