Hi everyone! Today I have Pahlish's newest release, the Matters of Consequence Collection. This 7-piece collection was inspired by Shannon's favorite book, The Little Prince. This collection, along with the September Duo (which I will have up in a day or two!), releases this coming Sunday, September 6th at 7 pm CST in Pahlish's shop.
After Shannon posted the info for this collection, I was intrigued and ordered the book to read myself. I'm planning to read it this weekend, but in the mean time, it decided to have a little photo-op with the collection.
Drawing Number One is a brown jelly with gold, copper, and ultrachrome copper flakies. Formula was very smooth and easy to work with and I used 3 thin coats for full opacity. I wasn't initially drawn to this polish, but once I got it on the nail I fell in love with it. The shimmering flakies have such depth in the jelly base and I thought that the overall effect screamed Autumn in a bottle. It also made me think of tiger's eye gemstones.
Coquettish Creature is a smoky taupe creme with bright violet flakes with a golden shift. Formula was super nice to work with and I got full coverage in 2 coats. The purple flakes pop so nicely against the conservative taupe background and the subtle golden shift adds dimension to the polish. The shift was hard to capture on camera, but you can see it a bit in the macros around the edges of the nail.
Draw Me a Sheep is a white creme with a mix of violet blue shimmer and platinum flakes. Shannon messaged us that she though the formula ended up being a touch thick, so she was adjusting the final production batches accordingly and recommend we add a few drops of thinner to our bottles before using them. I added just a touch and I found the formula really easy to work with and I used 3 light coats for full coverage. This polish is absolutely ethereal and gorgeous. I have always loved Shannon's white polishes (they always have a fun twist on them) and this one just stole my heart. The flecks of silver throughout make it really special.
Asteroid B-612 is a smoky plum linear holo with soft taupe shimmer. Formula was very nice and I used 2 coats for full coverage. The shimmer was very subtle in this one, but just added to the sparkle but WHAM...look at that holo flame! I love the smokiness because it is such a sophisticated twist on a purple holo.
Little Baobabs is a deep olive green linear holo with scattered ultachrome flakies. Formula was super nice to work with and I got full coverage in 2 easy coats. The ultrachrome flakies were very subtle in this and only visible in low light because the holo flame really takes over.
Radiation of the Sands is a rich goldenrod yellow creme with a mix of gold and copper microflakes. I was really impressed with the formula of this one because it was a 2 coater yellow, which is next to impossible to find! If you use thin coats, it probably would have taken 3 for full opacity, but I used 2 medium coats. I was full of anticipation for this polish because I know that sometime yellows and I don't get along, but I was very shocked to find that this worked so well on my skintone and that I really enjoyed it. Kudos to Shannon for making this mustardy yellow a wearable color!
Laughter of the Stars is a creamy seafoam linear holo. Formula was very nice to work with and I used 3 thin coats for full coverage. This is such a soft and delicate color and the subtle holo finish really compliments it. I think this would even been a perfect bridal blue polish (I so wish I could go back and wear cool polish to my wedding now!).
Pahlish is available from Pahlish's Big Cartel Shop. Be sure to follow Pahlish on Facebook and Instagram for details about restocks (they are Sundays at 7 pm CST) and new polishes. Thanks for looking everyone!
