Hi everyone! Long time, no see. Sorry for my absence, I just had a really blah week and wasn't feeling like blogging. I'm back today though, and I'm excited to share some brand new limited editions from Great Lakes Lacquer with you. These will be available from October 31st at 3 PM EST and will disappear from the shop on December 1st at 2 PM EST.
Thanksgiving Bay is a medium/dark aqua blue jelly filled with blue/green color shifting shimmer. Formula was nice and easy to work with and I got full coverage in 3 thin coats (though I think 2 regular coats would have done the trick. The shimmer in this one offers a diffuse sparkle and is really stunning when the light hits it.
November signals the coming of the Holidays for many. It’s a time to remember, a time to give thanks, and time to spend with family. It also marks my wedding anniversary. To the man who has stuck by me, supported me, and pushed me to be my best, thank you. We spent our honeymoon over on the west coast of Michigan, driving along the lake.
Freer Sand is a full-coverage gold holo microglitter. This one was just a touch on the thick side, and Mariah said that she is going to thin it a bit before the release. Even though it was thick, I didn't find it difficult to apply and I easily got full coverage in 2 coats. It's such a gorgeous sandy gold shade and the holo effect is beautiful, making your nails look like little disco balls.
As we were traveling up and down the coast, following the lake, we noticed that the cabins and houses on the other side of the road really didn’t have lawns of grass so to speak. The blowing winds had created sandboxes of the yards across the way. One owner had stuck a sign in a particularly large pile stating “Freer Sand”. A humorous jab at a frustrating situation, perhaps? It will always be a part of our marriage vocabulary.
Great Lakes Lacquer is available from their Etsy shop. Be sure to follow them on Facebook and Instagram so you can keep up to date on release info. Thanks for looking everyone!
