Glam Polish Masters of Illusion Collection

*Press Samples*

Hi everyone! Today I have Glam Polish's gorgeous limited edition Masters of Illusion Collection to share with you. This collection consists of 9 shades that have everything you can imagine packed into them: holo pigment, glitter, color shifting shimmer and glass flecks, multichrome flakies, silver flakies...just name it and it is probably a part of these super sparkly polishes. These beauties are for sale now in Glam Polish's shop.

I must say, this is probably one of the most difficult to photograph collections I've ever encountered. They are just SO complex that they often freaked my camera out. I hope that I somewhat did them justice with my photos, but they are really something to behold in real life. I took most of these pictures in lower lighting because taking them in bright light blurred out every bit of detail and there is a TON of detail to these. Have no doubt that the blingy holo comes out much more in brighter light! Trust me, the detail in these polishes is frakking amazing!

First I want to talk about the formulas. Despite having everything but the kitchen sink in them, I found the formula pretty similar and consistent among these polishes. They spread easily and were very easy to control during application so I had to do very minimal (if any) clean-up with them. This is a very important pro for these polishes because you do not want to have to do clean-up with the glittery/shimmery/flakie/glass flecky madness that is going on in them. Trust me. They all tended to start out sheer on the first coat, but surprisingly most of them were opaque on the second coat (with two exceptions, but I'll point those out).

First up we have the 6 shifty shades. All of these shades have color shifting glass flecks in them. Some are more shifty than others, but in general they were subtle color shifts. These polishes can be worn on their own or layered over a base color if you want to the shifty nature to pop a bit more. I actually preferred them on their own vs layering them, but I did layer one over a dark base because the shift is so stunning.

Mad Magician has a holographic base with ultra holo glitter, violet/red flakies, iridescent color shifting glass flecks, and shimmer. The the shifty shimmer in this polish is a sort of dirty plum color most of the time and it has a subtle bronze shift. This one was easily opaque in 2 coats.

PREST-O CHANGE-O has a holographic base with ultra holo glitter, green/purple flakies, iridescent color shifting glass flecks and shimmer. The color shifts from aqua to purple in this polish and it has the strongest color shift of the bunch. This is the one that I did decide to layer over a dark base and I used 2 coats over black here.

Deceptive Practice has a holographic base with ultra holo glitter, copper/green flakies, iridescent color shifting glass flecks and shimmer. The shimmer in this polish is absolutely insane! It doesn't have a strong overall shift in color, but more like all sorts of micro shifting sparkle in green, copper, gold, pink...all sorts of colors going on. This is one of my absolute favorites! I used 2 coats here.

Sorcerer's Apprentice has a holographic base with ultra holo glitter, golden/green flakies, iridescent color shifting glass flecks and shimmer. This one has a deeper, more bronzy gold base than Deceptive Practice. The color shift is very subtle in this, but it has sort of a gold to bronzy/green tinge. This was 2 easy coats.

Death Defying Acts has a holographic base with ultra holo glitter pink/green flakies, iridescent color shifting glass flecks and shimmer. The color shift in this one is a subtle purple to light gold with tons of blue and purple glass flecks. The purple shift is much more prominent in real life with the gold only appearing around the edges or at extreme angles. Formula was slightly thinner on this one than the rest, so I ended up doing 3 coats instead of 2 (although 2 coats over a dark base would work well too and probably bring out the color shift a bit more).

Escape Artist has a holographic base with ultra holo glitter, cyan/violet flakies, iridescent color shifting glass flecks and shimmer. I can see flecks of green, purple, and gold in this one, so it makes me think of Mardi Gras. The color shift is very subtle in this one, but there is slight green/purple shift going on (you can see it more in the macro pics here). This was the other one that I used 3 thin coats for, but you could probably have gotten away with 2.

The last 3 shades of the collection are the sparkling shades. These shades don't have the color shifting element, but they still have fantastic sparkle and holo, plus some other fun flakies!

Now You See Me has a holographic base with ultra holo glitter, holo microglitter, sterling silver flakies and sparkly microflakies. I remember seeing Love Varnish's review of this one saying it has EVERY type of silver, and yes it does! It's like a disco ball! It's all the silver things you could ever want in one polish. The silver flakes have my heart, I love them (so I guess you guys can assume this was one of my favorites). I used 2 easy coats here.

Catch Me if You Can has a blue tinted holographic base with ultra holo glitter, sterling silver flakies and sparkly microflakies, glass flecks, and shimmer. The base of this is sort of a smoky blue and it is packed with blue and purple glass fleck shimmer that is just stunning. The silver flakes are also the perfect finishing touch. This is another one of my favorites!

The Prestige has a pale lavender tinted holographic base with ultra holo glitter, iridescent rainbow flakies and sparkly microflakies, glass flecks, and shimmer. The rainbow flakies were a fun surprise in this polish! They are definitely subtle in contrast to all of the other things going on in this polish, but they pop out here and there when you move your fingers. I thought this one would be super sheer with the first coat, but I actually thought it was great at 2 coats (maybe 3 if you have long nails).

Overall, can you tell how enthusiastically I love this collection!? They are so gorgeous and complex that you must see them for yourself! If I had to make my top picks, they would be Catch Me If You Can, Now You See Me, Deceptive Practice, and Death Defying Acts (Though honestly...you can't go wrong with any of them.) Don't forget that these are limited edition, so don't wait too long to pick them up!
