Hi everyone! You are going to see several posts from me today that I wanted to post earlier in the week, but my computer/editing program has been giving me nightmares! I was finally able to get everything working this weekend, so I'm going to start by showing you some new releases from Great Lakes Lacquer including one that I'm particularly excited about...a custom that I collaborated on which is the first in the Ladies of GLL series! Mariah is going to be teaming up with a member of her blogger team each month to create a gorgeous custom which will be available during that month. There are also several single pours going up as well and these will be first-come first-serve so be sure to grab them before they are gone! The single pours and my custom, Never Gonna Give You Up, will be released in the Great Lakes Lacquer shop tomorrow (8/15) at 7 PM EST.
I have 4 of the single pours to share with you, but Jenne from Polished Pathology and Savannah from Addicted to Polish will be showcasing some as well! I will link their posts as soon as they are up!
Addicted to Polish - Single Pours
Never Gonna Give You Up has a creamy turquoise base filled with bronze shimmer, bronze multichrome flakes, and rose and blue glassfleck. Formula was a breeze to work with and I used 2 coats for opacity. I have always loved patina and I wanted a polish with the gorgeous turquoise tones flecked with bronzy bits to capture the spirit of patina. I think that Mariah nailed it!! In regards to the name, Mariah has gotten into the habit of rickrolling me over the past year because she knows it is my favorite (*sarcasm*), so we could not think of a more fitting name for this polish! :D Eeee! Don't you love it?! This shade will be available through the end of August.
All Your Edges (single pour) is a red-leaning purple with tons of pink shimmer and a medium density linear holo effect. Formula on this one is slightly on the thicker side due to the copious amount of shimmer. It did not give me any application issues, but if you like thinner polishes you can always add a touch of thinner to make it more to your liking. It was very opaque, so I used 2 coats for full coverage. This one has a creamy holo finish, so it isn't a KABLAM holo effect, but it is more velvety and the shimmer really pops in real life.
Treasured Gold (single pour) is a olive khaki shade with tons of gold microflake and shimmer. Formula was excellent and I used 2 coats for full coverage. This one has more of a greenish tinge in photos for some reason, but I think that it really reads more neutral greyish khaki in real life. It's such an interesting shade and twist on your standard neutral. I was really surprised by how much I adored this one!
Let The Shadows Fall Behind You (single pour) is a peachy nude with pink to gold shifting shimmer and a copper sheen. Formula built up to opacity really nicely and I used 3 thin coats for full coverage. This was a beautiful, flattering shade and had enough pink in it that it looked nice on my skintone (peaches don't always work for me). The soft shimmer is just super lovely!
Bringing Me Out The Dark (single pour) is a deep purple jelly filled with orange glitter, orange holo microflake, pink flakes, and holo microflakes. Formula was very nice to use and built up to opacity easily in 2 coats for me. I adore the holo flakes in this one, it really adds depth and pop in the deep, dark base.
