KBShimmer Fall 2016 Collection

*Press Samples*

Hi everyone! I'm super excited to share KBShimmer's Fall 2016 Collection with you today! This 12-piece set is a fantastic mix of traditional fall shades as well as some nice transitional shades that aren't your typical fall fare (and would look wonderful year-round). There are also a great mix of finishes that will be sure to please everyone. The Fall 2016 Collection launches on August 19th on the KBShimmer website.

Sweet Devotion is a white crelly with hex glitters in blue, red, yellow, orange, green, and brown with a scattering of micro bar glitters. Formula had a great glitter load and spread easily and smoothly with full coverage at 3 thin coats. Christy was inspired by the myriad of fun-sized candy wrappers that are in abundance around Halloween (that don't last long at my house because of the trick-or-treaters...yeah it's definitely because of them...) This is such a fun and different twist on a Halloween shade and I like that it isn't so specific to Halloween that it could be worn year-round.

Grin and Gerbera it is a warm pink creme. Fantastic formula with full coverage in 2 easy coats. This is such a flattering pink and I think it perfectly captures the deep pink of the Gerber daisies that my Granny grew in her yard.

Poppy Kisses is an orangey-red linear holo. Lovely formula here with full coverage in 2 easy coats. This shade is such a stunner and definitely captures the spirit of poppies with its orange lean (I'm always a sucker for orange-toned reds).

Turning Pointe is a peachy pink jelly filled with holo microglitter (addition to Mega Flame line). Formula was excellent to work with and I thought it would need 3 coats, but it was completely opaque in 2 easy coats. This ballet slipper inspired shade is so soft and delicate and I found it to be immensely flattering! The huge punch of holo is amazing with the soft color.

Tiers of Joy is a cake-batter beige crelly with gold and light pink holographic glitters and a touch of nutmeg brown and micro holographic glitters. Formula was easy to use and worked best using thin coats so that the glitters still popped through since this was a more opaque crelly. I used 3 thin coats for full coverage. I love the inspiration behind this polish so much and I totally think it embodies cake batter!

Sage It Ain't So is a sage green crelly filled with copper, lavender, and silver glitter. Formula was good to with and I used 3 thin coats for full coverage. I found the glitter load to be nice in this polish with good, even coverage on the nail. The earthy tones in this are lovely and I think the copper glitters in this polish help it swing to more of a fallish feel amongst a very springy color palette.

Flake Me Home Tonight
is a mint jelly filled with metallic silver flakes and holographic sparkle (similar to the Birthstone Collection). Formula was nice and easy to use and built up to opacity in 3 thin coats. I adore these metallic flake polishes that KBShimmer has been putting out this year and this one is no exception! The pale minty goodness of this one is definitely a winner in my book.

Little Boy Hue is a baby blue creme inspired by the Pantone Color of the Year, Serenity. Formula was lovely and surprisingly so for pale blue. It had perfect application in 2 easy coats. This shade had an ever so slight dusty quality to it which takes it easily into the fall.

The Best Mum Ever is a deep lavender creme filled with pinky-red microflakes. It had a nice formula and I used 2 coats for full coverage here. This is one of those purples that was a bit of a nightmare to capture because it wanted to photograph more blue, so I did a little color adjusting to make it look as close as possible to real life. I also had to play with some weird angles to get the shimmer to really shine as it does in real life in my macros (that's why they look a bit different than the rest of my macros).

Orchidding Me? is a warm purple (fuchsia-leaning) linear holo. Formula was beautiful and I used 2 coats for full coverage. Christy was inspired by her mom's orchids when she created this shade and it will be a true winner for the purple lovers out there (you know...the one or two of you that are out there).

Oh My Ganache is a warm chocolate brown linear holo. Formula was perfection to work with and I used 2 coats for full coverage. This brown is so deep and rich it is literally like a brownie
in nail polish form. Just try not to lick your fingers!

Fright This Way is the other Halloween-inspired polish of the collection and it is a black jelly filled with purple glitter and holo dust. Formula was slightly thick but was still easy to apply and I used 2 coats for full coverage. To add some more Halloween pizzazz, Christy will be including some loose purple metallic bat glitters to add to your mani as desired with purchases from the fall collection (while supplies last). They pair perfectly with this polish and I think it was the best decision to leave them loose instead of putting them in the polish because they are large and awkward glitters and look best when applied with a toothpick or dotting tool by hand because you can place them just where you want them.

KBShimmer products are available from their website as well as from Harlow & Co. (Canada), Live Love Polish (US), and Color4Nails (US) for international customers.
