Hi everyone! Today I have KBShimmer's Fall 2017 Collaboration Collection to share with you. Christy has paired up with 12 of her bloggers to create their visions for a fall shade. Two shades designed by Christy round out the collection. These polishes will debut at Polish Con Chicago on September 23rd and then will officially launch in the KBShimmer shop on Friday, October 13th.
High-rise to the Occasion is a light grey with violet shimmer and rainbow ultra chrome flakes. Formula was very nice and easy to use. It started off sheer, but built up really nicely to opacity in 3 thin coats. The shimmer in this is amazing and ethereal and I think that it really makes this polish stand out from other crellies with ultra chrome flakes. This was a collaboration with Michelle from Ehmkay Nails.
Pearls Gone Wild is a silver holo microglitter with pinky red shimmer that shifts to copper and gold. Formula was excellent and easily built to full coverage in 2 coats (I used 1 coat of thicker topcoat and 1 coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top for a glassy finish). The shimmer in this polish really takes it to another level! It absolutely glows! It's such a special addition to the polish and definitely sets it apart from any other silver holo microglitter polish that I've ever seen. This was a collaboration with Amy from McPolish.
I Don't Want No Shrubs is a hot pink crelly filled with micro golden flakes and shimmer. Formula went on nice and smoothly and I used 3 thin coats for full coverage. I like that this isn't a typical fall shade, and it's very bright and fun! The complex golden shimmer is perfection. This polish was a collaboration with Jen from My Nail Polish Obsession.
Stop and Smell the Rosé is a soft coppery pink linear holo. Formula was outstanding, and I used 3 thin coats for full coverage. This holo is INTENSE! This is an elegant shade and I totally loved it on my skintone as well. This is the first one of Christy's shades.
Pun-kin Spice Latte is a terra cotta creme filled with copper shimmer. Formula was very nice and applied smoothly and evenly (I used 3 thin coats here for full coverage). I'm an orange fan and this shade is such fall perfection to me! The shimmer is present but not overpowering or frosty and I think it elevates the elegance of the polish. This shade was a collaboration with Valesha of Peachy Polish.
Oh My Gourd is a butterscotch creme shade. Formula was very nice to work with and I used 2 easy coats for full coverage. This shade, I feel, is one of those pretty/ugly shades that is going to be very polarizing. I actually really really like it and I think it is perfect for its inspiration (gourds) and for fall. It looked good on my skintone too, which surprised me! This is the second of Christy's shades.
Espresso Yourself is a rich brown jelly filled with copper and gold holographic microglitters. Formula had a nice glitter load and it covered well in 2 coats. It is loaded with glitter, so it took a heavy dose of thicker topcoat (Essence Gel-Like Topcoat) + a QDTC (I used KBShimmer Clearly On Top) to smooth it out. It was TOTALLY worth the extra topcoat because the depth of all of the glowing glitters in the jelly base is amazing! This was a collaboration with Gaby from LacquerLoon.
Olive Or Twist is a deep olive metallic shade filled with holo flakes and a golden flash. Formula was very lovely to work with and I used 2 coats for full coverage. I adore this sophisticated shade SO much! It was definitely one of my favorites from the collection. This polish was a collaboration with Lovely Mishra from Nail It Lovely.
#squadghouls is a deep olive jelly filled with color shifting glitters that shift from green/orange/gold. Formula was on the thicker side, but still easy to work with. I used 3 thin coats for full coverage. This is a nice swampy sort of green that I enjoy and the shifty glitters add some fun twinkle. This polish was a collaboration with Holly from Miss Holly Berries.
Northern Frights is a metallic multichrome shade that shifts from emerald green to deep indigo purple to navy with holo flake accents. Formula was nice and easy to use and I used 2 coats for full coverage. The base color of this polish is very deep and dark, so the color shifts pop nicely (and you know I love the holo flakes!). This polish was a collaboration with Judy from Beauty Judy.
Better Lake Than Never is a teal blue metallic with holo flakes and turquoise shimmer. Formula was fantastic and I used 2 easy coats for full coverage. I don't know why, but this polish was just ok when I saw it in the bottle, but once I got it on my nails it glowed from within! It ended up being a surprise favorite of mine. This polish was a collaboration with Alicia from Delishious Nails.
Peach for the Sky is a creamy sky blue filled with peachy copper shimmer. Formula started off sheer, but built up very nicely to opacity in 3 thin coats. The shimmer is very elegant and dainty in this polish. It isn't overwhelming, but really gives it some interest. This polish was a collaboration with Antionette from aricedotcom.
Let's Fang Out is a plum creme shade with hints of maroon and aubergine. Formula was fantastic and I used 2 coats for full coverage. This is a super dark and vampy shade for fall and I love it! It photographed really blackened in my pics, but it is definitely purple, not black looking in real life. I'm actually wearing right now with a fun shimmer topper and I can totally see this as a base for tons of fall manis with glitter, shimmer, and flakies on top! This polish was a collaboration with Sam from Sam Nailed It.
Lady and the Vamp is a plum Mega Flame shade (jelly with holo microglitter) with hints of maroon and aubergine. Formula was very easy to use and I used 2 coats for full coverage. I adore the Mega Flame line and I'm always proud to see new additions. This polish is just amazing! The shade (similar to the creme shade of Let's Fang Out) is amazing for fall and you can never go wrong with tons of holo glitter in a jelly base (in my opinion). This polish was a collaboration with Lisa from Cosmetic Sanctuary.
